A Co workers girl is sponsored by a company called muscle egg. They are flavored egg whites and he swears by them.

@OdieM how many servings a day do you drink of those eggwhites? Also how many servings do you get in one of the bigger jugs an how long will one of those last you? I need to seriously look into it more an invest in some. I would just like to have a little more insight on it coming from someone who actually uses on a day to day basis bro ;)

Haha that's cool bro. Ya I have heard of 2 different corporations. One is that muscle egg that you mentioned an the other is eggwhites international. I need to get me some for real.

I buy 2 gallons at a time and that last me 1 month. I drink 1 cup a day unless I'm bulking, then i drink more. 1 gallon last 16 days at a cup a day.

I have mentioned this many times already but I custom make my protein powder too. Its 50% Egg whites powder and 50% beef powder. Im all about my egg whites and my gf hates me for it. lol

Also i wake up every morning and eat 4 whole eggs.

Damn i take in a lot of fucking eggs. lol

So let me ask you this. Does your body still use most of the protein from a COOKED egg or does that only apply to eggwhites only?

I'm not gonna BS you bud. I read an article years ago stating that an egg is an egg. It has the same nutrition properties whether its cooked or uncooked. But then I read something where CBS had interesting facts saying something different. Ill have to look. I think BB.com had the article I read

Haha well looks like im off to eat some eggs. I buy mine from walmart. I like getting the box that has 5 dozen. I eat a lot of eggs to. Eggs an chicken lol. I swear im going to turn into the incredible edible egg before its all said an done lol

@Skull So I'm stuck at the office today and on days like this i fill my brain for 7 hours. Found something interesting about the way your body processes eggs. According to this you get the most protein from a pasteurized egg. When its cooked your cooking out the proteins and when its raw your taking a health risk and your body won't digest all the egg. So pasteurized is the best way to absorb an egg.

Umm... that was a movie. lol Nah like i said you do get protein from a raw egg but your body doesn't absorb it all and your taking a health risk.

Sorry OdieM had to jack with you. You been catching so much shit on the other thread from your stalker I didn't want you feeling lost.

In a similar situation, supposedly the microwave takes out all nutrients as well. Has anyone seen anything on that?

A microwave zapping the fat and or protein content? I don't buy it.

Thanks for researching it bro. Ya I always figured that cooking them takes away from atleast some of the nutritional value. Looks like I need to get some of those pasteurized egg whites an start chuggalugin them down lol.

Would hard boiled eggs be considered "cooked"? It would seem so, but everything is contained within the shell when hard boiled, so it makes me wonder...my wife boils up a shit ton of eggs every week so I can eat a few in the mornings before work. She's so kind...dawwwwww

As far as cooking anything goes I believe anytime you put any kind of heat to food you are taking away from the nutrition it has. The healthiest way to eat most food with the exception of fresh cut meats that absolutely need cooked is RAW. Raw fruits an veggies are the healthiest that way. I can't bring myself to eat potatoes an some other veggies raw though lol. I'm no expert in this. Just putting in my 0.02:)

That's what I figured...I'm not gonna complain to the chef tho!
I wouldn't complain either;) Any meal that you don't have to prepare for yourself is always welcome to me. I cook 90% of my own food an it sucks:rolleyes: My girl gets so tired of smelling the same chicken that I'm constantly cooking:D Owell cant please them all:p

It's actually healthier. I had read something that water was boiled, watered to vegetables, and they didn't produce as much as when regular water was used.

Microwave cooking and nutrition

http://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/microwave-cooking-and-nutrition

Almost every American home has a microwave oven. The convenience they offer is undeniable. But despite the widespread use of microwave ovens and their excellent safety record, some people have lingering doubts that cooking food with microwaves somehow makes food less healthy by zapping away nutrients. Does cooking with microwaves do that?

Understanding how microwave ovens work can help clarify the answer to this common question. Microwave ovens cook food using waves of energy that are similar to radio waves but shorter. These waves are remarkably selective, primarily affecting water and other molecules that are electrically asymmetrical — one end positively charged and the other negatively charged. Microwaves cause these molecules to vibrate and quickly build up thermal (heat) energy.

Some nutrients break down when they’re exposed to heat, whether it is from a microwave or a regular oven. Vitamin C is perhaps the clearest example. But because microwave cooking times are shorter, cooking with a microwave does a better job of preserving vitamin C and other nutrients that break down when heated.

As far as vegetables go, cooking them in water robs them of some of their nutritional value because the nutrients leach out into the cooking water. For example, boiled broccoli loses glucosinolate, the sulfur-containing compound that may give the vegetable its cancer-fighting properties (as well as the taste that many find distinctive and some find disgusting). Is steaming vegetables better? In some respects, yes. For example, steamed broccoli holds on to more glucosinolate than boiled or fried broccoli.

The cooking method that best retains nutrients is one that cooks quickly, heats food for the shortest amount of time, and uses as little liquid as possible. Microwaving meets those criteria. Using the microwave with a small amount of water essentially steams food from the inside out. That keeps more vitamins and minerals than almost any other cooking method.

But let’s not get too lost in the details. Vegetables, pretty much any way you prepare them, are good for you, and most of us don’t eat enough of them. And the microwave oven? A marvel of engineering, a miracle of convenience — and sometimes nutritionally advantageous to boot.
