So yesterday evening I had a few slices of pizza as a cheat meal and went to bed early. A few hours later I woke up with some pretty nasty heartburn and seeing as I had no tums or anything I decided to gulp some almond milk and sure enough it worked like a fucking charm. The relief was instant and within 5 minutes of laying down the acidity/burning was 100% gone and didn't bother me again. Just figured I'd share is all ;)

Good to know almod milk works ill give it a try next time

Thanks for this suggestion...gonna pick up some to use when I have a heartburn attack. My doc had told me to lay off the omeprazole as it's bad long term, and I'm loath to eat tums like candy so looking for other good natural heartburn killers.

What causes your heartburn? For me it's just red sauces so I avoid them except for when I have pizza now and then ;)

Can't pin it down to any one food or foods. Red sauces are my weakness too.

Only time I have red sauces is pizza and I stick to only a few slices. I'd suggest you completely cut out red meat and red sauces for a week or two and see how often you get heartburn.

No joke lifting your hands over your head and breathing deeply, conpletely gets rid of it when its about to strike. I had no idea about this until 3 days ago. It actually works.

My heartburn was from pizza so can't avoid the pain without taking something for it. That almond milk worked fucking brilliantly I gotta say, but yah I don't have acid reflux or the like.

Just try it, i thought the same thing. Unless you have. Hands over head open up more space for the food in your stomach to go, so it doesnt shoot up. Also millk works like tte said.

I've tried milk before, but the almond milk is amazing! Buy a jug and see for yourself ;)

whats bad about taking omeprazole long term?

I take Lansoprazole, 30 mg am and pm. Been doing that for 15 years, there are some negative studies on PPIs, I've had no issue and it beats Barrett's or esophageal cancer. Was scoped earlier this year and all was well. I want to keep it that way. With reflux and a hiatal hernia I have no choice. Put the head of your bed on 6" blocks, that really helps and watch how much you eat at night.

Funny you say that cause I've had a 4x4 under the head of my bed frame for years now, but I did it to keep my sinuses from stuffing up. Works great, but is a black hole for cat toys lol ;)

I will remember this as the same thing happens to me 2-3 times a week, during sleep and during training for sure

It's good shit eh! I use the sweetened cause I use the unflavored/unsweetened iso whey. Mixes fucking awesome in a shaker.

It’s the cats cock, I use it with 2 scoops of my iso whey and mix it up and then pour it overtop of a big bowl (4 cups) of cinnamon toast crunch

easy 1000 calories and 56 grams of protein an 120g carbs :-)
