The obsession with being shredded/vascular/dieting ???

Regardless of what people think, if you think 15% is lean, you have low standards. You take steroids and count calories to be 15%?

If your 15% and consider yourself lean more power to you. A person at 20% can claim they are lean too because lean is a subjective term just like fat. Rosie Odonell can say she's skinny no one can really prove her wrong.
Your "10%" is way higher than you think.
 
Point is what most think is 10% actually is 14-15%. If you think 15% is not lean then you probably don't know what you're talking about in the first place.
You're right, people tend to say that they have a lower percentage of body fat, but in fact more. Or deceive or sincerely believe in it.

This is getting redundant. if you are ok with being 15% or want to justify it by saying "well another guy thinks he's 10 and he' 15 (he may be)" knock yourself out bro

I'm not saying maintaining 30% is a good idea, but if that's where you are with no exercise and a slightly below average diet, isn't aiming for 18-20% a lot more realistic?

I think it depends on your set point, if someone has been obese their life maybe 15% is a good spot for them so they have energy and they aren't starving. But for a naturally lean person 8-9 is nothing, they can still eat alot of food and have energy. I feel good at eating 3k calorie per day, at 2k for extended periods id feel like shit. There are people who don't workout who don't know what 15% is because they are naturally lean/skinny ectos.
 
Don't get your knickers in a twist when you've read this post coz it's not trying to have a pop at anyone's choices but things are very different these days in bodybuilding/weight lifting/training/fitness etc so I'm just opening up a discussion (if you wanna get involved).

Unless you earn a living from modelling or competing in a sport why the fuck are you so focused with being ultra lean all year round and denying yourself the pleasures of living a normal life and eating a normal healthy diet?
Do you do it coz you like looking in the mirror everyday and worshipping yourself? Or do you do it to impress the girls/men in summer or when you ocassionally get a new sex hook up? Do you do it coz you spend a lot of your life naked/semi-clothed and being cut gives you confidence that you're beautiful and better than other people? Or do you do it for other reasons not listed here?

This is a genuine post BTW with genuine interest into the mindset of guys and girls that diet all the time and eat in really odd and unhealthy ways just to look good (lean) on the outside.

Beach body or ideal for pussy is more like real 12-13%. For example in your profile pic you're about ~13%. Which is lean in real life.
 
It's strange how our minds work differently. The leaner I get the worse and less confident I feel.

Bodybuilding, to me, was always about getting bigger and stronger and I never feel good when I diet/lose weight.
I can relate to this. But there is also a time when you look at yourself and wonder why am i bulking. To be the fattest. You started off wanting to be the strongest or the fittest. Everyone has their own plesent spot to be. Where you look like you workout but arent always starving. Then come summer you will push a little leaner but not to excess. So we are all the same but with different points where enough is enough. Be what you want not what others are. Then you will be happy.

15% is neither too much nor too little. This is fine. But when you get on the path to fat reduction, you want more.
 
Okay Well there are two types of shredded.

There's stage shredded, which acidosis nobody had any business staying like that year round.

Then there is normal shredded. You can see all 6 and ask well as nice quad definition, but you aren't taking diuretics and going through every day life with paper thin skin.

I like being the latter because I like it. My girlfriend likes it. It's obvious from the looks i get while hiking (and even literal comments or a few cat calls directed at me) they other women like it too, so it's a big confidence boost.

Plus I just feel better all around at this body fat range than if I am at a buffet higher fat level.
In addition to cutting fat, you need to find a balance where you will feel comfortable, and not every day as a war with your body. Especially when people start taking diuretics year-round. It's already a disease

I think we pretty much talk about the same thing. In the end bf % is just some number, if you look good visually then your body fat is low enough and you're lean.

Well the leanest i ever got was 5.4% according to an averaging of 3 back to back fat caliper readings. I was ridiculously lean. Was it actually 5.4%? I dont know, according to youits impossible so maybe not, but i had striations everywhere, seperation of upper and lower pecs, spider webs of veins across the upper half of my chest, 10 pack abs (yes 10, i know its just a genetic tendon cut giving the final 2).

The crazy thing is i was trying to BULK at the time. I was eating close to 6000 kcal. So hows this happen? Well this is what almost everyday of my life was like at that point: 1 hour gym workout, followed by freediving in cold canadian ocean for 3+ hours, to get back id then haul 50lbs of wet gear up a 60 degree incline hill that took 15 minutes to walk up. I did this on avg 5 days a week, all while fasted. Then afterwards gorged like mad to get 6000 kcal.

Now according to a university of berkely study freediving burns on avg around 1200 calories per hour. The colder the water the higher the caloric burn because the body must burn calories to generate body heat or DIE. One pound of fat is like 3500 calories, so 3 hours of freediving (always done in a fasted state for optimal breath hold durations) could burn 1 pound of fat. Take a guy who has very little fat to begin with as an ectomorphic body type, add that into play, plus the fact i was on GH and had been for over half a year by this point, and you get freakishly lean physique. I never used any fat burners to do it (aside from GH).

I was level 10 lean and people talked about it. I remember some insecure dude arguing with his GF at the beach about how i was on “something” because i was so effin lean. His GF kept telling him its becayse i was swimming so much and its hard work. They were both right.

My point here is this, if you live an active lifestyle (beyond just the gym) being lean just happens, you dont even need to aspire for it. So the moral pf the story to you fat slobs is adopt an active lifestyle beyond just the gym and you will find its actually easy to be and stay shredded AND its FUN because you engage in hobbies you enjoy doing without even realizing the incredible effort your exerting doing them. Water sports are particularly effective, especially in colder water climates! How many fat surfers do you see? Not too many because if you surf a lot your gonna end up pretty lean no matter how hard you try not to be lean.

Inbody was shockingly comparedable to a dexa scan which is making me wonder if I wanna drop 300 on the damn home machine.

Calipers, standard BF scales, and neck measurements are shit.

I mean, how does someone say that Ronnie was 7% at contest ready? eyeballing isnt horrible but at a certain point requires full body scans to confirm it.

I think sometimes people take b/f too far and overthink things. It's literally impossible to get a b/f % that is equal/the same for every inch of your body.

yea. I added a video btw. I know in the end game it doesnt matter. DEXA scan says I am around 14-15% and this is the leanest I have ever been in my life.

I hope to get a 6 pack for sure. just never been this close COMFORTABLY.
