Race to a 600lb deadlift

Agreed... I am looking at another smaller more BB and PL type gym that's actually closer to my house. The only reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet is i dont like their hours and they are closed on holidays lol

There's a gym like that around here I don't switch to for the same reason. Can't justify two memberships and my gym really isn't that bad anyway.
 
A couple years ago during the New Year's gym rush this chick was doing crunches in the only squat rack in my gym. I was really polite about explaining that could be done anywhere and that was the only place I could do squats. She left, but was a huge bitch about it. Was saying she didn't have to worry about people stepping over her or some dumb shit like that being inside the rack.
SAme fucking bitch doin 10 below the speed limit in the passing lane, probably even brake check people that "tailgate" because she has a right to be there!

I can deal with this one for now at 10 bucks a month. They have 4 squat racks, 5 flat benches. Only up to 75lb DBs and I have asked to get more at least up to 100lbs. I can lower slow for now, maybe I will start coming down a little quicker today on DL and see what happens with me.

Shoulder press and stationary lunges with an empty bar are the worst Ive dealt with. If someone was doing crunches and didn’t want to move I’d just start loading up the bar anyway and do deadlifts or rack pulls.

At some point in a few years I’ll either be that big guy no one fucks with or I’ll have to find a better gym. I have free access to a huge warehouse PL/ CrossFit style gym with lots of squat and power racks, tires, open Deadlift areas, ropes and shit. Buts it’s over an hour round trip from the house and not worth it for the level I’m at right now.
 
Funny this came up. I had this happen today.. some older lady came in wearing jeans and a fucking parka and had the nerve to ask me to “keep it down” while I was benching. Mind you, I’m not excessively loud at all. Only the normal heavy breathing while pushing weight... lol. I was like WTF? Bitch you aren’t even dressed to be here.

I just can’t spend money to go to a gym like that. Im not having someone tell me don’t make noise or drop the rubber weights on the padded floor. Those people can eat a dick. Even commercial fitness gyms where they don’t want you using chalk or taking all the plates are a bother. Fighting with people for the squat rack so they can do barbell rows with 75 lbs is not on my list anymore
 
Dudes doing overhead presses with 10s or 25s on the bar piss me off so much.. like dude, use the fucking dumbbells.

People setting up shop on the squat racks or Deadlift platform , got all their straps and water jug out, a bench to sit on and a foam roll pad. Then they do a giant set with 4 machines and come back to the squat rack every 13 min to knock out a set of 10 with 185. That shit among other things made me leave golds. At least if your gona set up a fucking camp site on the equipment stay there and use it.

That was late 2016 around, 3 years ago was 640lbs i believe.
i'm 25 y/o now. Back then i use to train deadlifts for strength now i'm just trying to maintain.

It's 290kg or 639.3lbs. There's a race to 700lbs thread as well. Since getting that recently I was thinking of a race to 750lbs thread at some point if anyone else was interested.
 
Well he still didn’t prove the 605 squats but he’s probably not far off if he was deadlifting 640

Wasn't talking about squats i came in talking deadlifts lol
But my squats about 5 plates for 7 reps or so, i try not to max out anymore, weights catching up to me already and i'm only 25 hahaha
 
I'm jealous of you guys that squat almost as much as you deadlift. I can pull 700lbs and struggle with squatting 500lbs.
