If you explore the site a little there's a lot on equipment and the differences between feds.
If you are interested in the aspects of programming I'd recommend a look at Mike Tuchscherer's RTS forum.
RTS Forums
They go into applying the RPE system to bodybuilding over there. Never read much on that, but it is a topic that's discussed. I think the RTS system is absolutely worth learning about.
As far as books Starting Strength is vital, great stuff on form. Squat Every Day is a good read on very high frequency training. Practical Programming is great, although I don't agree with his low volume approach to bench and deadlift. The RTS manual is a good read, although outdated and you can pick up most of the info on their forum.
