Something lately has sparked my interest in powerlifting... I'm not sure WHAT, but something has... What direction would you PL'ers send me for info? I have some books by EliteFTS and the Juggernaut stuff... Is that a good start? I haven't cracked into them yet. I mainly want to increase my bench and squat, DL i'm happy with for now.

What kind of info are you looking for? Like programming a routine info? I can link you to a ton of free ebooks if you want.

Check out Smolov, WP. I just started it but I really like the setup so far.

There is a JR version that's meant more for bench and deadlift and the regular version is for squat. I opted for hatch for squats which may or may not kill me.

I think programs, yes. And, just general info, you know? I know a lot about bodybuilding, and next to NOTHING about PL'ing! I'd love to maybe run it a few months and see where I go... It'd be fun to structure a cycle intended for PL'ing.

Powerlifting to Win is a pretty good site for general info. He has a pretty good break down of most popular routines as well.

Here's the one on routines.

Powerlifting Programs

If you explore the site a little there's a lot on equipment and the differences between feds.

If you are interested in the aspects of programming I'd recommend a look at Mike Tuchscherer's RTS forum.

RTS Forums

They go into applying the RPE system to bodybuilding over there. Never read much on that, but it is a topic that's discussed. I think the RTS system is absolutely worth learning about.

As far as books Starting Strength is vital, great stuff on form. Squat Every Day is a good read on very high frequency training. Practical Programming is great, although I don't agree with his low volume approach to bench and deadlift. The RTS manual is a good read, although outdated and you can pick up most of the info on their forum.

I'll probably think of more later and I'll post it if I do.
