How much ya skwaat?

Pure mental fuck up on the skwaats these days. I was maybe 3 inches away from parallell doing 370lbs today. Couldn't get deep at all. Ended up doing 2 reps, second one again 3 inches away from parallell.

Its in there, I am strong enough, I have done 380 clean not too long ago.

"Fuck you, no parallell on my shift", says mind. :mad:

Going for a high bar rep PR today pending I'm feeling good throughout the motion. Hoping for 405x5 ATG belt oly shoes and hopefully knee sleeves if I can get them on, gonna try the garbage bag technique

Get it bro! I've started using high bar, now that I'm doing more weight, and it seems to keep me more stable. Is there a reason for that?

Could just be body mechanics how you are proportioned for your squat style or you aren't locking in your low bar position with a tight enough back. I'm stronger low bar and could do 405x5 no problem low bar I'm trying to work on my weak points and get more quad engagement in my squat as I do ATG
 
Didn't make 5, couldn't get my knee sleeves on at all so went sleeveless and in rep 4 I didn't bounce outa the whole I went for a slight pause to see if I could go for a 2 second pause rep 5 but I got stuck and had to dump it. Too bad I forgot to set safety's but luckily the first 45lb is a good bumper plate so that saved my York standard steel plates from breaking!

Go find my posts in the let's see your ladies thread it's there lol. I for sure can hit it if I could get sleeves on I just had no pop outa the whole being ATG if I stopped parrellel I'd have it too. Not too bad I can't complain as I'm doing a lot of cardio lately and still getting stronger

Found this little write up from T nation. Actually I often find some good articles over there. This one pertains to front squatting.

I'm experiencing some knee pain and trying to figure out why. This article explains some things I may be doing wrong with my form and execution. I'm also getting stuck at 365x5:confused:. I didn't expect that. Looks like I need to practice some 3 second pause reps to get my power outta the hole up to par.

Got some wraps coming. My knees are no Bueno atm. I think from inward knee collapsing or possibly dive bombing in to the hole. You'd think I would know better. Or perhaps the weight isn't on my heels enough? Too much forward knee travel?

Common thought for it to be on your heals but the weight should maintain a vertical bar path which would actually put it just behind centre of mid foot not actually on your heals. As for forward knee travel that 100% does not damage knees pending there isn't some outside factor included, if you have the required dorsiflexition your knees should travel well beyond your toes in a front squat. Look how top level oly lifters do it knees way forward. The collapsing inward would be my main concern in which if you have a band or hip circle I would practice your front squats with the band or hip circle 2" above your knee with a low weight focusing on driving out towards the bands. I do that with 135 on the bar and it's great for adductor engagement and feeling how you are properly suppose to drive.

As for getting stuck in the whole pause reps are great to devolope the power but also explosive speed sets so 3 seconds down 1 second hold and fire up so fast your feet nearly leave the ground. Use 60% of your normal working weight for this, not 60% of your 1rm that's far to heavy and make it a 10x3.
 
A long time ago I used to supplement with glucosamine and chondroitin when I was humping miles everyday. I may retry this joint support if it'll make my knees feel better. That and my wraps and sleeves should arrive any day now
 
The knee sleeves changed everything for me. Better than wraps in my situation at least. I guess i needed just a bit of compression and some trapped heat. For some reason it gives me more help than my wraps, which are far heavier duty. The wraps don't have a ton of give to them whereas the knee sleeves have a ton, so i really don't get it . I just know the sleeves are where it is at for me.

Here is my full compliment at the moment. If i gain any more in the waist my belt may be moving on. I can probably fight that of a while. I can't justify needing a bigger belt until i get bigger deadlift/squat numbers.

I know your pushing some big numbers and your under 200? Or close to my memory...What's the latest and biggest?
 
Oh hell no, i am not under 200. I am around 250 at the moment. Best recent squat was 605 for 2. Best deadlift was 565 for 1. Bench was 425 for a single. My weight took off a bit on my last training cycle. Sad thing is i have completed all those lifts except the bench a couple of year prior at 215. I'm probably carrying 25 pounds of useless garbage i don't need. I could pull back down to 225 for sure and not lose any strength. Actually, i should probably so that.

You coached yourself right into that, Dude! Go for it.
 
Don't pull the beta-male card mate. Tell him that the garbage bag trick works just as well on his mother. Use tren. Be alpha. Gain muscle, not friends.

I was so fucking stoned I couldn't figure it out. When I read his reply I had one of those stoner moments when you sound like Spicoli and go "whoa, I got it man!" In the zone for sure haha!
