Nothing too crazy, probably 1.5 gallons a day I would guess. Then I fasted before the second test for a long time on accident. Probably for 16 hours. How much water were you drinking?
telmisartan lowers hematocrit? Does it thin the blood or something? Do any other BP meds lower hematocrit?Donate blood, try some grapefruit juice or extract. Believe telmisartan has impacts on hematocrit. Lots of other solutions but that is high for a TRT level dose.
100mg/wk or sometimes even 50 or 75 mg/week is my trt dose now and generally no issues whatsoever.I don't like this either. I understand the concern about hematocrit. But complete withdrawal from treatment and putting you in a hypogonadal state as a way to manage hematocrit levels isn't a very healthy approach either.
There are other ways to manage. Like the many suggestions about regular therapeutic blood donation. Also, adjusting the dosage downwards. Maybe 100mg/wk would be better.
I started baby aspirin this week hopefully it's doing something. I'm already taking fish oil.OP- If you can't give blood start taking fish oil and aspirin daily.
Baby aspirin will only help your platelets. Telmisartin will help keep hematocrit lower so if you’re already on it you need to be hydrating like crazy and not just water you need electrolytes. This can make a significant difference in hematocrit even overnight. Have heard grape seed extract can help also and it may even help hemoglobin iirc.I started baby aspirin this week hopefully it's doing something. I'm already taking fish oil.

Lol I made the exact mistake, ordered grape seed instead of grapefruit seed extract.Grapefruit seed
Question, did they do a CBC W/ Differential test? or just some basic tests. See attached.Recent blood work results came out as
RBC 6.27 range 4.2-5.4
HEMOGLOBIN 176 135-170
HEMATOCRIT 0.54 0.40-0.50
I am on test cyp 120mg every two weeks.
Urologist wants to stop treatment right away and test again in 2 months. He doesn't offer any medication or solution just stopping injections cold turkey.
I am going for a vacation and hence can't donate blood. I don't want to feel like crap during my vacation but I don't want to risk blood cots, stroke or heart attack either.
As far as research go, I've read of how it's not bad as being claimed and how recent studies on blood donations are that effective. I started taking baby aspirin, and increased my fish oil intake to 8grams and I upped my water intake too.
Should I stop trt and PCT or continue. I know my dosage is so low and the suggested injection frequency is not advisable. Doc is so conservative and prescribes so low, we haven't figured the optimal doses yet.
Any suggestions?
I was just going to ask were you well hydrated prior to the test. Hydration plays a big role for me. I always hydrate the night before and the day of. Like up to 100oz of fluid. also, like above poster mentioned telmisartan seems to have an affect in keeping it lower. Can you drop a pint of blood before the retest?
I posted this video in another thread for what its worth..

I'm not comfortable to do this heheWell I have a semi dumb idea, you can back yard donate. Just pin a vein count to idk 60 seconds while it leaks. Its a dumb idea but it’ll work. It’s probably not the smartest idea I’ve had but hey if it works it works.
The test covered the CBC with differential. All came normal except rbc, h and h. I got scared a bit when I first read your post because I had heart burn and acid reflux last week after eating lamb curry lol.Question, did they do a CBC W/ Differential test? or just some basic tests. See attached.
This was one of many series of tests I had done when I had a sever issue going on and they couldn't figure it out. After extensive blood tests and MRI w/ Contrast, it turned out I had a huge hole in my esophagus that was bleeding. The surgeon said it had been there for years and just got worse and I was lucky. Due to being athletic, kept me from just crashing.. There is so much more to this. I bring it up as so often, those numbers hide an underlying cause. Note, I was on HRT throughout, no doubt what kept me from completely crashing.
Do you have any other symptoms, heart burn, sleep apnea, acid reflux?
As noted by others, just dropping off can be very detrimental to your health as well.
Cheers,
PP
Oh, I am not a doctor, just play one with women.
LoL.. Sorry.. No this would be prolonged heart burn over months and serious acid reflux that wakes you.The test covered the CBC with differential. All came normal except rbc, h and h. No gastric irriation now so far. I'm going for a re test just for CBC today, hopefully I'm hydrating enough to make a difference.
Damn, I had that acid reflux last week woke up coughing the acidic curry taste at the middle of the night. I can't imagine how much that hurts especially when it just hits you out of nowhere, you thought it's just a small burp but turns out its full own coughing that burns like hell.LoL.. Sorry.. Yeah it’s not a good idea probably infection city doing that. I wasn’t serious anyways.I'm not comfortable to do this hehe
Declan.. Full On!! I've had surgery to fix my issues... but needless to say, it is debilitating.Damn, I had that acid reflux last week woke up coughing the acidic curry taste at the middle of the night. Having multiple episodes would be the worse.
