the point is, Saddam acted like he had the weapons, threatened us, and didn't listen when we said "freeze." So we "shot" him, only later finding he didn't have the weapons he pretended to have. It's not our fault he threatened us and pretended he had weapons.

Again, for all you people that think the war was wrong or illegal - do you think we should put Saddam back in power to right the wrong you say occured???

why are these people avoiding this question?

because no matter what they say, their answer is going to contradict what they said in the past. they will come down on both sides.

ok fine i will answer that question. no i do not believe saddam should be put back in power. as to your other question do you believe i should right our wrong....how do you give a father his innocent daughter back? or a mother her son back? i am not one sided or another that is why i just ignored airbornes comments. i think there are positives to this war. but the negatives far outweigh them.

Nobody ever said war was pretty. If we weren't being so careful about casualties, the "mess" as you put it would be much closer to completion.

You can't ever give a life back, but you can make sure the sacrifice they made was worth it in the end.

You can't give the 3000 lives lost on 9/11 back either, but their voices are being heard every time a terrorist dies.

And in WWII Germany didn't attack us either. But we understood that the enemy was more than one country. The war on terror is similiar in that there are terrorists in more than just Aphganistan. Ask Russia, they'll tell you. You can't complete one phase and then stop. Saddam was a terrorist...plain and simple.

and its not just tough luck for saddam. its tough luck for many of my friends and maybe some of your friends that are over there right now. and it will be tough luck for the US when iraqi terrorists and al-queda re-cruits many more fathers whose children were killed by our bombs. that is going to be tough luck.
