Accutane permanent cure?

Did I get an asshole or over conservative doctor?

Started out on 90mg from Indian pharma.
Did that for a month then found out my insurance covers accutane so I went to a dermatologist and got a script.

With the doctor
Month one 40mg/day
Month two 80mg/day-still breaking out.
Month three 80mg/day. I expressed my frustration with the dr but she wouldn’t increase it. I’m having very minimal side effects.

If my bloodwork this month comes back good which I’m very confident it will and she won’t bump me up from 80 I’ll just start adding in my own with India pharma or find a new doc.

Some plans (not all) require pre authorization. Paperwork >80mg / day, and some docs hate taking on the burden. (Even if it’s just documenting weight).

You could check yourself or tell me you insurer and I can tell you. Then you’re armed to go back and say “hey, I know some insurers require preauth over 80mg but mine doesn’t” or just “guidelines say 1mg / kg standard dose and I’m 90kg” or whatever. Guidelines allow up to 2mg / kg, and insurance will pay for doses of that size.

Even though I'm absolutely mortified, I will get myself some from India, I just cannot tolerate the damn backne and face acne any longer!

Ghoul, thanks for sharing your protocol. I'll start low and slow - 20 mg daily, honestly, no rush whatsoever.

Which brand would you guys recommend? I've read on here that Healing Pharma tested low some time ago, so not sure with which brand exactly to go.

Thank you (and off to make an introductory post, lol).

Healing Pharma Accufine is excellent.

The test results you saw were the result of heat degradation. Isotretinoin is much more heat sensitive than most “room temp” meds. You’ll notice the storage temp on the packaging of all Isotretinoin drugs is lower than the standard 30c.

Anyway, that brings up another good point. Stock up on it NOW. In cool weather. It’s dirt cheap, so just buy all you anticipate needing for a full cycle,

Larger doses are more cost effective, but you want flexibility so you can titrate higher or lower as necessary (especially at the beginning).

They come in 5,10,20,30, and 40Mg. 10 capsules per strip.

I recommend to split it up like this (% of cumulative dose) for maximum value while being able to dial in whatever dose you need:

20% 40mg
40% 30mg
20% 20mg
20% 10mg

So if your total is 22,000mg (220mg x 100 kilo body weight)

110 x 40mg
300 x 30mg
220 x 20mg
440 x 10mg

Total somewhere around $200-250

You don’t want to be halfway through this, then decide you need more, only to have customs crackdowns or other delays, and either run out (forcing you to experience sides again that were already over) or risking a hot weather delivery and degraded product from sitting in a 150° shipping container for weeks,

Once you get it as long as temp stays below 75°f it’s good for 2 years. Or better yet, stick it in the fridge if you won’t be starting for a long time.
