Giant Semaglutide Thread (and other GLP-1 / GIP agonists)

Who’d you get it from? Are you reconstituting it correctly ?

.25 mg is crazy to have that kind of reaction
Yeah, it’s an online peptide source with a good reputation I’ve used for several peptides over several years. Yeah, I know how to reconstitute. I had tried starting at 1mg before and really didn’t feel anything besides the insomnia. I switched to Reta from Tirz because that also caused me insomnia. I took Sema for almost a year in the past, lost a lot of weight, but always felt tired and depressed. I was hyped to try Reta but I can’t seem be able to take any amount. Common sense would say I’m sensitive to stimulation of the GIP receptors since both caused insomnia.

Back on Sema, I tried Reta for the last time on Wednesday. That stuff is insomnia in a bottle for me. I had come to that conclusion before, but I still have a couple vials and thought maybe if I started slow, .25mg I’d be alright. I literally never fell asleep Wednesday night. I am super sensitive to both Tirz and Reta regarding CNA stimulation.
I had that with Tirz for like a week. Life was rough. Just started reta a couple weeks ago. Had some insomnia the first couple nights but seems to be fine now.

Spent a month and a half waking up at 2–3 a.m. and staring at the ceiling thanks to Tirz → Reta → before I quit. Finally started sleeping through the night again after a few weeks. Then I thought, “Maybe I was just under-eating and over-training.” Tried Reta 1 mg again and boom, instant insomnia for 10–14 nights straight.

A month later I convinced myself a lower dose was the answer. Spoiler: it wasn’t.

Wish people wouldn’t hype it so hard, it gives me major FOMO while I’m lying awake wondering why I do this to myself.

tirz did this to you? why do you think this wwas?

What Reta and Tirz have in common is GIP receptors stimulation so the

Chat GPT answer is :
GIP activation can contribute to insomnia through a combination of central arousal, sympathetic activation, altered metabolic signaling, and circadian rhythm modulation.

When I took actual starting doses of Tirz and then Reta, not even Ambien could help me.

Currently on the third week of Tirz, and have been dropping weight slightly without changing what was my supposed maintenance calories. I am not looking into dropping weight. Is this normal? Will it stop eventually or does it increase energy demands in some way? Don't want to keep losing, but also do not want to raise it if its just a temporary thing...

Now that you say that it was much more than a week for me initially. And it was the same thing, wake up at 2-3am and my brain would just turn on full blast wide awake. I never took anything for sleep. I'm more think 10mg melatonin and 2 x unisom. I'm not sure I actually need it but scared not to drop it.

But when I was in the middle of this the drugs didn't touch it.

My time looking into this on chatgpt lead to some interesting comments about bg dropping during sleep and cortisol spiking. It suggested eating a non greasy (of course) protein heavy meal 3 hours before bed. I am switching to this today.

Previously, I ate my first meal by 5:30am and my last meal by 4:30pm. I am now eating my first meal at 8:30am and my last meal at 6:15pm. I wake at 4:30am and go to bed around 8:30/9:00pm.

I talked about this earlier in the thread, that i was waking up at 3-4am and not sleeping until I had a bunch of carbs. although I still eat carbs when I wake up to be able to get a few more hours, I think most of the waking up early thing was the fact my estrogen was crashed. probably 50/50 contribution.

Why do you get up that early? I love waking up early

Do you guys front load Reta? I just want to do 2mg to lower my insukine tolerance and get some of that Glucagon effekt as hunger isnt really such a big problem for me.

But its said to take at least 4 weeks for it to kick in, so can i just take 4 mg the first two weeks or what sides am i risking?
