Rip John meadows

Yes very sad news. Great loss for the bodybuilding community. He was a great man. Gone too soon….RIP
I always thought it was silly when people got sad about celebrities dying. Then I found myself crying yesterday after I heard about John passing away. It's weird what effects us sometimes. Prayers for Mary and the kids

John was a great coach, entrepreneur, businessman, family man, but above all else, just a great person. No more needs to be said. He will be missed by so many.

I feel for his son man.. he was always so proud of that boy!! I loved it.. this one hurts more and more.. when u got started in weightlifting/bodybuilding he was the main guy in watched non stop!!! Still watch him religiously.. he has so much knowledge and doesn't bullshit you.

I just found this out two days ago. I found him on youtube a while back and really benefited from his amazing training tips. Then when I saw him occasionally include his son in his videos I thought, 'Dang, that is one nurturing father who loves his son."

RIP, Mountain Dog.

It feels kinda odd for me to see his videos constantly popping up on my youtube feed knowing that he really is no longer of this Earth. I always glean some excellent tidbits of advice but at the same time feel mournful for his loss and for what his family is going through.

I just finished up this video. Apparently, back in September of 2020 he was diagnosed with a dead lower apex portion of his heart and the capacity of his ejection fraction was only working at around 35% which is very low. He was advised to get a defibrillator but was against the idea. If he had one inserted would he still be here to this day? Damn....

Defibrillator wouldn't have helped as he died from a clot to the heart causing a cardiac arrest, at least I think that's what happened given the past and current info. I just hope he wasn't conscious when it happened and he passed peacefully.

You're right. He did die of a pulmonary embolism which was a blood clot that gets lodged in one of the arteries of the lungs. I think this happened while he was sleeping and this is why his wife said he passed away peacefully.

He had a lot of health issues over the years. I read somewhere that he had to have his entire colon removed due to a rare disease and the blood clots seem to follow after that.
