Good cruise dose following a bulk?

A cruise is to return things to normal. Usually, that dictates a low dose, say 150, 200, or maybe 250 mg of testosterone a week. Following my competition, I cruised on 150 mg a week for a couple of months before testing blood and, upon finding all was well, pushing a blast.

My weight is now 245 (at 6 feet). I will be ending my cycle soon. This is my highest bodyweight ever. Obviously, I do not expect to keep all of the weight I have gained, but I am also thinking maybe 150mg a week is not appropriate after pushing so hard to gain. I am tempted to run my cruise dose quite a bit higher this time around.

I would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions. What have you done after hitting a new record high bodyweight when the time came to take a bit of a break?

I have a few weeks to decide yet, so pile in here and comment!

So roughly 225-335? And what is your reasoning?
Not sure if this is the reasoning, but fouad had Broderick Chavez on the podcast recently and I believe that is what he says he has most guys do for a cruise protocol. Some pretty good information on there if you are in to that stuff.

Also Vigorous Steve recommends something simliar (I think he does 1mg per lbm) If you are a member of the SST discord/keybase thing they have his cruise/offseason protocol book where he highlights something simliar.

Ahhh remember those beautiful days.

My coach had me at 175 test and 200mg Primo after a big bulk.
It's a but reckless, but it certainly does the trick, I find bloods stay good with that run as well, so long as nutrition and supplements are on point.

That said
I'm very interested to see what you settle on, you're a lot bigger than me and I want to see your cruise results.

Now that you’ve bulked, your probably a bit fat? How fat are we now... my issue is where do you go from a blast/bulk? You go into a cruise phase and let your bloated softer self loose nitrogen retention and get even softer? Then what cut from there?

ie. I’m just gnna stay on 375mg/wk test minimum for as long as I’m actively competing.

If diet and training is good, I really don't see a reason to go above 200mg a week. Unless you're way beyond your genetic limit, I think a modest dose is completely sufficient.

Further, even if you do lose some size... That muscle tends to come back pretty quick when you begin the next blast. So, it's not like you have to earn it back in quite the same way as you did the first time.

The real answer to this is - I don't know.

It depends on whether I decide to compete again in the fall or wait until 2022. If I wait, it will be a cruise and then another bulker.

If I do compete (up in the air right now) then a cruise and then prep for 16 weeks or so.

I am trying to decide whether I have added enough size to compete in the fall. If not, then add some more and compete in 2022. To be honest, at 245 at my absolute peak right now (highest weight ever), I just don't think I have the size necessary to do well in Open in the NPC, at any contest.

245 is not stage weight. That is this A.M. weight while stuffing with food.

My last weigh in was 208 (but I dropped another 5 pounds to 203 prior to prejudging, dropped water). I started that prep weighing in the 230s, but I was fatter than I am now at 245. I just don't know where I am, so to speak. I have improved my legs, but the end result is not enough for the NPC, or at least I do not think so. It might have been silly of me to expect dramatic improvement in my legs over just a few months.

So, anyway, my concern now is to cruise - everybody needs a break of some kind. I am older than pretty much all of you, so this is even more important. But on WHAT to cruise, that is my question. I was leaning toward 400mg or so a week. My prior cruise was 150.

I just don't know, though.

I want to be healthy. I also want to do all I can to hold on to what I have built, especially since this is my best size ever.

Yeah thats the one. He starts discussing it around 1:16:00. I believe he refers to it as “sports TRT”. I’m not suggesting you should follow that protocol, I’m just saying I have seen a few big names discuss similar protocols like that, especially more recently.

Also, trainedbyjp (Jordan Peters) has an app where a lot of pros like James Hollingshead, Jamie Christian, and even JP himself actually have threads/videos discussing their complete cycle use including their cruises, cruise lengths, cycles and health supplementation. They even post all their blood work and discuss it. The app was free for the first week, then it’s a monthly subscription but if it’s still free you could always check it out, then just cancel after the free trial.

Very Interesting. I had no idea. I will have to check that out. I find it weird that somebody as competitive lately as Hollingshead would post his complete cycle.

Peterson is leaving bodybuilding. I did not know if you saw that announcement. He has decided it is not worth the risk to his health to keep pushing hormones and size anymore. I wonder if that will change the site.

I love reading, and gathering all the information I can about this, so I would definitely recommend the app app, even if you use it just during the free trial.

Yeah I did see that. He actually discusses it on the app. He made a post on his thread when he first decided and even discussed what he will be cruising on and his future plans. I believe this is his last year coaching as well.

Bump!

Come on.

Those of you past your natural limits, especially competitors, chime in here, please.

What is your cruise dose following a bulk, and why?

If you have tried different ones, high, low, with different results, I would be especially interested in hearing from you.

3 mg / kg or let's round it up to 300 mg per week is going to be enough for your case, imo

I guess I sort of answered but each time I take a break after a push I cant seem to hold the fullness on under 375 test and thats coming down from 750ish and another 750-1g of other stuff. 250 I just kept getting flatter and flatter, given that round I wasnt on it at all with food or cardio but either way.

300-400 is my personal "competitor cruise".

for reference I'm 5'7" 196ish pretty lean

Does your bloodwork recover on 375 mg of testosterone?
