Yet another loss of libido, impaired memory, and stress intolerance.

Scary... we have so many things in common...low hormones, panic attacs, mental confusion, heart arrythmias, less emotions, intolerance of stress, racing thoughts, spending tons of time searching the net for anwsers, etc.

Do you also feel drained from energy by 4pm ? Do you have mussletwitches/tics ? Do you get sick alot ? Are your eyes sensitive to light ?

I would really like to stay in contact with you in the future. Could you send me a PM with you email addy ?

Im thinking about starting deprenyl myself. Could you tell me some more about your experience ? how much you took ? if you felt any different etc.

BTW. did you by any chance ever take propecia ?

JH

Dude I have similar symptoms along with hot flashes, erratic perspiration, & every once in a while I get itchy nips, but not often though.

I have also had OCD/anxiety all my known life & it SUCKS!

1cc : 1599, which makes me in the upper part of the range. No wonder I have hair loss.

If you feel like adding anything, you're more than welcome to.

Are you on any HRT right now, and if so, what?

That DHT lab was performed last July, and back then I was not on anything at all--no HRT nor any supplements. Blood draw was at around 8 : 30 in the morning--I figure that since androgen can vary a lot in the day, and that T is known to be higher in the morning that this sort of reading can happen. However I was also kind of stunned, cause if you have a look at my Pathmedical blood work at the beginning of this thread, you'll see my DHT was low,but then androgen can vary a lot, and I was stressed out like crazy while at Pathmedical.

Seeing that DHT result, it's no wonder I'm losing some hair. It appears the cause of my low libido is not low DHT. Can such a high level cause prostate issues ? What else can a high DHT level bring about generally speaking ?

Thanks

This DHT lab must be incorrect. Unbelieveable that it took so long to get this result back.

PROGESTERONE 1.09 HI SEE BELOW
PROGESTERONE 0.2-1.4 ng/ml

Your PROGESTERONE may be possibly a culprit.
I am not sure of ways to reduce progesterone.

How did you got you allowable range.
My LabCorp report says (0.3-1.2ng/ml)

In addition to counterbalancing the negative aspects of estrogen, progesterone may also inhibit 5-alpha-reductase, the enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone.49

Progesterone
Men:
<<0.3–1.2 ng/mL

It's not that unreasonable 1cc, cause I'm a long way from Toronto and that's where they sent it for analysis-since Toronto is a large city, and at that one lab they sent it to, they likely have a lot of analysis to complete.

I'm balding, and have much more body hair in my back than I used to, this is as far as I know telltale signs of DHT. Obviously all labs cannot be incorrect.

Perhaps Marianco could shed some light onto this, as to whether it is possible for one to have high DHT and low libido. If he's positive, then I would agree with you that the lab is incorrect. I guess it is possible, cause there are a few players involved in sex drive.

Let's not forget the initial diagnosis : dysthymia and ADHD. I was skeptical, but I'm more and more thinking it could hold the key--I'm not however saying his diagnosis was correct, but I'm yet pushing it aside.

it would explain why : valerian, st-John's wort, grape seed extract, selenium, zinc and magnesium all increase my sex drive, as they're all anxiolytics, and dysthymia is in part that, anxiety.

Let's keep digging into this, I feel I'm getting closer to the root of it.

I got the allowable range from the Bio-reference laboratories test results I was given at Pathmedical in October 2005.

Now that you mention it, i recall reading about progesterone inhibiting DHT, but if we look at my DHT levels, progesterone is not inhibiting it, at least unless there's some information I'm missing on the subject, and that even though my Progesterone was HI.

Does Progesterone follows the same trends as androgens and can vary a lot during the day ?

Thanks for pointing this out Jansz.

1cc: I think you may in the end be correct about the DHT test not being valid--Dr. John answered one of my post on anabolicminds, have a look : http://anabolicminds.com/forum/male-anti-aging/53818-whom-may-concern-3.html#post656634

In the end it looks like I'll really have to see yet another doctor--I wanted to save some money, but it looks like I won't be able to. The reason being Dr. Braverman really cost me too much money, and he literally killed my health budget, especially considering the new home I'm having put up as we're speaking.

I think the chances are pretty slim that your DHT would be that high without being on TRT.

I know you are eager to figure this out, but try not to jump to any conclusions before reading the Adrenal Fatigue book. Your symptoms are so strongly suggestive of adrenal fatigue that I would not rule it out based on your test results.

I would like to see your results of an ACTH challenge test. This is one of the better ways to determine if your adrenal glands are able to properly respond to stress -- after a dose of ACTH, your cortisol levels should rise dramatically, and this does not occur in adrenal fatigue.
I had not noticed you were an old school member. Shame on me. Welcome to Meso LOL. This will be fun.

Yeah I know. Got an old school dude coming back so giving him a belated welcome to Meso!

I understand it looks weird. But I am wagering @FunkOdyssey is coming back to Meso. No one hold it against him if he talks to me LOL.

Got it, his last post was in 06 but yeah he's been active today it says. Anyway keep him posting, I bet he has some interesting things to say about that era. I love hearing old school stories.

Much certainly has changed. It seems like I thought adrenal fatigue was a real thing back in 2006. How cute!

I wonder what became of chip douglas? He was pretty notorious for awhile.
