I don’t know what screwed me up more , the bar or the thinner plates. The Texas Deadlift bar flexes quite a bit more. I don’t remember the difference in the plates really having the same impact on my numbers.

I miss my old gyms Texas deadlift bar, the thing was like a wet spaghetti noodle once you got to 550+. Ever wanted to pull a PR, just load that thing up with bumpers. Ha. My new deadlift bar at home has a really good knurling, but doesn't flex worth a shit.

Felt pretty good cutting back to 3 days a week, finally shaking out that beat up over worked feeling. The dieting is definitely holding me back. I think it showed on my Saturday session during deadlifts and somewhat today. Also just running a cruise dose I don’t feel that extra grunt like my last two preps when I was on quite a bit more test. I’m gona make the best of this even though I’m falling a bit short of my own lofty goals. Just getting my gym PR’s to show up meet day would be about 55-60lb on my total from the last meet.
Went to the chiropractor and got my back adjusted before I trained. It’s feeling decent today and hopefully with the adjustment better tomorrow

Long day at work but still made it happen. Tried to do some light deadlifts sumo yesterday and that was a no go, made it up to 175kg and said fuck this. Low back hurt, glutes hurt , hamms hurt. Pretty much my whole posterior chain is still fried from that dog poop deadlift I did Saturday. Got squats test this Saturday and I have a feeling it’s going to suck.

Did a little carb load last night.Had some chicken pizza and some chips, some f those protein cookies. Popped 10mg halo this morning and the usual pre workout. Solid eggs/turkey bacon/ pancake w/syrup breakfast and had some leftover spaghetti before I walked in the gym. Squats felt very good. 505 felt a bit harder than I expected but training partner said probably from going a bit low on depth. Cut 525 right at depth and smoked it, left it at that. Save the rest for the meet. Made the mistake of over reaching last week on my deadlift. Started adding a bit of test prop to my Trt after the miserable deadlift lat week. Total of 300 mg test a week. It basically just to get me through the heavy shit these last few weeks. Just have to watch my diet so I don’t blow my weight class.

The stem cell and prp has made a huge difference with my knee. Also decrease squat volume to only 1x a week has made a difference. If my knee keeps improving I’ll finally be able to get some higher rep work in for quads and grow my legs some between meets

Holy shit I’m wiped out from the squats and wrapping my knees yesterday. My biceps are fucking fried. I’m exhausted. Didn’t get too excited with the weight on this session. Going to be testing bench Thursday so need to have something in the tank.

Bench went ok, felt there was more in the tank but I didn’t want to take it too far this close to the meet. Managed to keep my butt down on that last single, it was difficult. Took 10mg of halo pre workout and did some carb loading. Been out of town for work, managed to eat fairly clean but nothing to brag about. Had a rough couple days working in the heat moving around equipment climbing ladders and doing physical shit. My back is hurting. Probably do one more trip to the chiropractor and try to keep up with the other recovery stuff. 8 days out. Everything from here to the meet is deload and weight cut.

Feeling good today. CNS is in good shape, my knees on the other hand felt like trash. Was planning on doing a few more reps on squats but just decided against it, it’s too close to the meet. I’m older now and need extra recovery. I need to be 100% fresh come meet day. On a good note my back is feeling good. A little sore but the static pain had mostly subsided. Hanging on the inversion table helps along with massage hammer gun. Got one more deload session and then water cut. 6 days out. Also my blood pressure is up. The extra 150mg of test p is working good, lol. I love that stuff.Hits so quick. I actually felt it within a day but it’s starting to work for me just in time.

Works been rough the past few days. Climbing a lot and kneeling for long periods. Also water load a bit difficult trying to make up the difference of what I’m sweating out on a 97* day here. Turned into 3 gallons Monday. Yesterday was 2-2.5 gal. Started my water taper today, 1.5 gal (that’s about normal for me) I’ll probably do 1/2-1 gal tomorrow depending on the scale. Not have to mess with diet too much, other than just keeping it clean like I have been the past few weeks. After this weigh in I’m fucking up some Chinese food. I really haven’t been craving junk tbh, maybe I finally found my sweet spot nutrition wise.

Meet weigh in’s

had a cold front come through yesterday and fucked up my garage sauna. It normally high 90’s in there even when it’s around 90 outside. I have a freezer out there and it put off condenser heat too. It was 87 in the garage and I really couldn’t get much sweat going. Had to get in trash bags and sweats do jumping jacks. Normally where I’m at any day of the week in September I can walk out side and just start sweating buckets. Fall weather came a bit early but I made it work. Was 225, got 3 lbs off between the trash bags and a hot bath. Pissed out a few more in the morning. Went to the weigh in and barely made the cut off. I was smack on 100 kg. I guess my scale is a bit off. Got into the chiropractor yesterday and got worked on. Back is feeling pretty good.
Openers are 215/140/240
Time to eat and rest. I’m starting to get ancy wanting to lift something.

Tough day at the office. Wasn’t ready on my 1st squat attempt, didn’t get my knees wrapped right, I was #3 in C flight and there wasn’t a break between B and C flight, the last guy in B flight was a no show. I got my timing screwed up pretty bad and had to just throw my wraps on. I couldn’t hit depth but sent it anyway, looked like a speed rep but felt like shit. So I went up to only by 5kg to 485 since I was doubting myself. Got on the board with that and just threw my gym Pr in there for a 3rd. Was tough but not bad looking back at the video. Bench was much better. Smoked the opener, 2nd was a grind but was 10-15 lbs under a gym Pr so I said fuck and tried to match a gym Pr. Made it about 5” off the chest and stalled out. By deadlifts I was wiped, Low back was ok but really wasn’t trying to herniate a disk so I played it safe. I smoked the opener, 2nd was grindy. So I only made a 5kg (11lb) jump. Little sticky at the top but got it done. Pretty disappointed in myself, couldn’t get my gym numbers to show up on bench or deadlifts. Not a terrible meet. +28 lbs from my last but not was I was looking for. Used less test during prep, probably peaked too early and had to cut 10lbs going into this thing. 3 meets in 11 months. Had a Rough prep and just wasn’t 100% today.Going to take some time off competing, maybe in the summer I’ll go again. I’d like to work on my body comp and get a little lighter so I don’t have to cut weight and I can bulk into my next meet.

That first part is exactly why I no longer compete in raw classic.

Congrats breaking the 1400lbs barrier. I'd take the next year off competing if I were you. Get your body comp where you want it with no worries about your lifts, heal up, then rebuild from a lower bodyweight.
