Who here is on a statin?

I'm using the TBJP Health Stack (Love Heart, Heart Care) for my blast, and I’ve had no issues with cholesterol. I notice a big difference when I don’t include it in my blast, it really has everything you need, in my opinion
Have you run this with Winstrol, anavar, and / or Tren?

8/20/25 labs yielded a fairly typical snapshot of lipids for the past 5+ years for me. Every single time I've tested, I would just get disgusted and mentally punt it to the next labs "they'll be better next time." Only they never got better. I have always been paranoid about statins, making ignorant claims about muscle loss, but there has been such a hard push by some members about cholesterol, especially regarding Pita, I decided I finally needed to do something about it regardless of risk of myalgia. Lab image from below is on a 30mg spread of Test P, Mast P, and Primo E per day. Diet has been locked down hard for a few years, all in varying degrees of caloric deficit. Everything is clean, tracked, and logged. Even micros to a certain extent, but I probably need to update those. Right now, macro spread is 160p, 235c, and 40f. I'm a small guy but fit and fairly cut. I haven't been eating enough calories to really make any strength gains, focusing more on leanness. I also tend to burn protein in higher amounts, as I'll smell ammonia in my workout clothes, so I use a bit less protein than most. I have, however, found my line of actual recomp, and I have been gaining small amounts of muscle each month. Not losing muscle during deficit is a win for me.

On 9/2/25, I decided I needed to get my shit together with cholesterol. I chose Pravastatin 40mg at the time because Telyrx just didn't have Pitavastatin, which was my preference. I also added in Ezitimibe 10mg and Niacin ER 1000mg. My plan was to eventually switch to Pita but at least get started on something. A little over six weeks later, I retested on 10/17/25.

HDL still sucks but actually went up a few points. Everything else had incredible reductions. This isn't even the max dose of Pravastatin (40mg). I'm absolutely pleased with these results and have had zero problems with any kind of muscle-related issues from the statin. I wasted years on fearing a problem that doesn't exist for me.

This is also on Tren A 30mg a day, as well. The worst of the labs showed elevated liver, with AST of 35 (top end of range) and ALT of 53. These are typically in the mid 20's, and these values are also with injecting 100mg of Glutathione every other day. I'm going to bump that to every day for now until I stop the Tren in about four weeks.

Incredible results in such a short period.

Great change in labs!

I'd drop the niacin.

There's long been the "niacin paradox" where studies just didn't show a decrease in CVD risk when using it to improve cholesterol, and now we are starting to see some potential mechanisms as to why - a niacin metabolite can cause vascular inflammation.

Yea, I've been on the fence with the Niacin. I'm absolutely more than happy to drop it because I still get random bouts of flushing from it... sometimes pretty extreme. I do wonder if it's helped thwart Tren's suppression of HDL a bit, but I'll be needing to get refills around the same time as this Tren cycle ends, so the timing will work out to just drop it. I may also switch to Pita at that time since Telyrx now carries it. I just hope these labs maintain.

One thing I've also noticed is due to the delayed emptying from Tirz, I'll still have a lot of fats sitting in my stomach in the morning after my Saturday night indulgence. If I take Niacin Sunday mornings, I'm in for a bad ride, so I just stopped taking it that day.

Been uing Atorvastatine for a couple of years now, not steroid related. Had high cholesterol ever since my mid 30's, even though I always ate healthy.

Tested coming off a couple months ago, values were pretty much immediately bad (total 249, non-HDL 214, HDL 35, LDL 182, triglyc. 169).
After starting 10mg Atorvastatin, back to normal range (Triglyc. 81, total cholesterol 149, HDL 34, non HDL 114, LDL 98) .

Taking 5 mg rosuvastatin daily for the past couple of years to make my risk of ASCVD negligible. Dropped my LDL-c from 1.8 mmol/L (70 mg/dL) to 1.2 mmol/L (46 mg/dL). I might add in ezetimib when I'm older as LDL-c tends to increase with age and level off around 45 y in men.

I am currently taking 10 mg pravastatin once a day at night. I originally tried 5 mg rosuvastatin, but did not tolerate it due to GI issues. I also tried ezetimibe (I know, not a statin), but also had GI issues. After those experiences, I researched which statin is least likely to cause such adverse effects and settled on pravastatin. No issues since being on it!

I'm also about to start this dose of pravastatin. What improvements have you seen with 10 mg?

Not too long ago, I saw a spreadsheet or something that listed all of thes statins and their potential risk, side effect profile, and benefit for each one. I looked through this thread and didn't see it. Does anyone have that?

Based on this thread, I see:

Pravastatin
Pitsvastatin
Rosuvastatin

as the 3 front runners to least risk/side effect and highest reward. Am I right on that?

I know this post is a month old so you may already know this by now but in case you don’t…TelyRX does carry Pitavastatin now.

Doc wants to put me on a statin for my colesteral. Any of you guys on one and would you recommend it?
I'm on Atorvastatin. Been on it about 4 years. I'm indifferent about it. Cardiologist put me on it. Didn't really want to take a statin but it works with no noticeable side effects and I have other bigger medical concerns now.
