I grew up in a time in Texas when you said the pledge everyday before class started each morning. It's actually kind of sick and twisted the way they brainwash children not to be critical(of government or religion) and think for themselves, not that I wish people to be selfish, but that I want people to stop pretending there are no problems with those in charge and that you have to accept the pile of bad for a few token good things.
As for inner city scum being taken care of by the police. I wish that were the case, but it simply isn't. Only 5% of arrests are for violent offenders, only 5% of violence is stopped by police, only 28% of stolen goods are ever returned to the owner. Matter of fact you'd be shocked to find out how few murders are actually solved by the cops....there's no money in it and thus it's not a priority.
What they spend most of their time on is traffic stops, search and seizures, drug raids. 52% of people in prison are there for non-violent drug offenses.
Before Nixon if you were in prison you murdered, raped, assaulted, robbed. After Reagan '84 crime bill you were in prison for drugs, by the time the mid 90's roll around you were in prison for life for a tbl spoon of crack.
The truth is the cops have moved from peace keepers to law enforcers, for tens of thousands of laws that have been placed on the books, with virtually unlimited powers to execute anyone they want with complete immunity with just one simple phrase "I was in fear for my life".
A funny thing has happened on occasion, when cops strike, when they refuse to respond to calls in many of these inner cities, crime goes down, arrests go down, people get along with each other. It's not something you're gonna see on Fox news where they feed the public endless hysteria that psychopaths are waiting to kill you right outside your nursing home door.
