tanks comeback fight was a while back and i can't remember the fighters name but he was like a 23 yr submissions specialist and got tank in an arm lock like 2 mins in round one.

Well,he doesn't last with most ground fighters,although he can handle himself on the ground much better than before, i like seeing Tank put against a standup fighter.

Well, for one, Pride alows stomps, knees to the head on the ground and soccer kicks.

It's not that Pride fighters are any tougher, it's just that they're better. The UFC is where good fighters go to make 50k if they're lucky. Pride is where the absolute best fighters go and make 150k. On top of that, the Japanese actually respect the fighters and the game. You don't hear them saying stupid red neck shit like they do here. They even appreciate the ground game. So, from a fighter's perspective, Japan is THE place to fight.

Yes, I fight. I don't have any videos at all, but I might be able to find a picture or two somewheres. Actually, I don't take classes. As it stands, I am the teacher.

Fuck yeah, I've thought about them! If everything works out for me, I should be in the UFC within 18 months. It all depends on my ability to keep up training after I move.

I don't fight for any one organization. Basically, prior to being signed by the UFC or Pride, you fight for whoever will have you.

Let me add this to the previous post: There are definitely some fighters in the UFC who can hang with Pride guys, but, on average they're not as good. The heavyweights would get mauled in Japan. Matt Hughes, Randy Couture, BJ Penn, Tito and the like would probably do very well.

Chuck fought in the last Grand Prix over there and got stomped. His first fight was against a figher who, if you ask me, had no business in the thing to begin with. When he came up against one of the good fighters he got whomped.

I have to add my 2 cents here, because I hate Tank Abbott. First, Tank Abbott is not a good fighter. Every fighter he has faced with an ounce of ability has defeated him. (Frye, Belfort, Rizzo) The ONLY reason Tank is even allowed in the UFC ring is because he draws money from rednecks. Look at his last 2 fights, he lost via Arm-Triangle (Kimo of all people) and Ankle Submission (or Toe-Hook, I think some people call it that). I think both were in the first round (dont quote me on that). If you want to watch people like Tank Abbott fight, go watch any local toughman competition, and dont forget to bring your NASCAR T-Shirt and Budweiser hat!

If you think Tank is a great stand-up fighter then you have never seen Ernesto Hoost, Mike McDonald or Mirko "Cro Cop" fight.

You're right about Mike McDonald. That guy is scary. That other relative new comer on the K1 scene...uhhhhhh...that one black guy...Fuck I can't rembmer his name...is also scary as hell.

CroCop is fantastic also. Those high kicks are killers.

I know his standup isn't the greatest, but Fedor's power makes him unbelievably ferocious. Who the hell can break an eye orbital with one punch? That's sick! I'm not in any hurry to have to fight him, that's for sure.

Yeah, I meant to put that it about it being his gig. I kind of forgot about that part to begin with, though. I guess he does what he has to to make the bucks. It certainly isn't hurting him any, is it?

After I can drive again(November 29th, if not possibly sooner) I just may come out that way. It would be hard to pass up Pat's, though, since I'd have to drive right by it to make it out that way. The HB center isn't bad, but MFS is great! Although, there is a HUGE MMA culture in Cali. The talent level is off the charts when you add up the whole state.

Hey Grizzly, how have you been? Law school is kicking my ass, but I have been gone for another reason. My father was in the hospital for a ruptured "di-recticul-eye" (sounds like that). Basically, the colon separated from the intestine and he had to have emergency surgery.

I also heard Jackson's ghetto image is a hoax. I dont know how you could put that much work and that much training into your profession and still have his attitude. It has to be a front.

Looks like I get to do the commentary.

Mir/Sims was good and I'm glad Sims got KTFO....matter of fact, I liked the half dozen elbows that he took to the face as well. Mir had his shit together though he appeared to gas very bad.

Hughes and Penn....I'm not going to talk shit about Hughes because he is a great wrestler and fighter....however, he was very arrogant in the pre-fight interviews and I hope that, in the future, he becomes more humble.

Murray and the puerto rican laborer was a good fight though I would have liked to see Murray win on a KO rather than by submission.

Tito was getting a lot of publicity throughout the broadcast and quite frankly, I think the shit-talking is great....I'm hoping that he fights frequently and that he puts on a good show for the viewing audience....that is the reason we spend our money on PPV - to be entertained. I'll be looking forward to Liddell/Ortiz, and I'd like to see him fight the brit, and I'd like to see him fight Vitor ....did I miss anyone? Yes, and I'd like to see tito fight dan henderson....hell, actually, I just want to see all of those guys fight, it doesnt have to be tito, I just want to see a good fight.

Couture and belfort was truly a shock.....I think both contestants were very displeased with the outcome - especially vitor. Essentially what happened was, they started the first round, they centered up, vitor fired a shot that glanced across randy's face, they went to the clinch at the edge of the octagon, and randy was wincing, and rightfully so because when big john stepped in and they got a close up of his eye, the eyelid had been torn in the corner. Unfortunate and a bad way for a title fight to end but both will be back soon enough.

OVerall. I was very displeased with the UFC's production. There were 3 good fights that were not included in the PPV and instead, we were given a bunch of rhetoric by goldberg and rogan that was both redundant and poorly constructed, not to mention the shamrock/rogan assessment of the belfort/couture battle plan. Shamrock stepped on his tongue so bad he didnt even know which fighter he was suppose to be talking about....I dont like Rogan myself, I dont really like Goldberg, and I'd just assume not hear shamrock's opinion either. We pay $ 29.95 to see fights....not bullshit....not bruce buffer naming the 'stars' in attendance at the mandalay bay....I'm sorry but personally, I dont give a fuck what forrest whittaker has to say and I really dont care which NFL and NBA players are in attendance. I'm really sort of pissed off about the total lack of quality in the PPVs and am now considering waiting for the DVD's to come out. They are cheaper...and I dont have to listen to the redundant Goldberg/Rogan bullshit nor the same interviews 10x during the broadcast. Quite frankly, I think the japs put on a better show so its pride on PPV and UFC on disc for this kid. The UFC has been ripping off the PPV audience with these last 3 shitty productions.

That's my commentary.

Sapp will never be in the UFC unless they remove the weight restriction of 265. He'd have to lose 90lbs and he doesn't have any bodyfat to lose.

Randleman got his ass kicked? Let's see, 7 appearances with a UFC record of 4-3-0. One decision loss to Bas Rutten who is arguably one of the best fighters ever. One loss to Couture, again, an animal. One loss to Chuck. Everyone gets lucky sometimes I guess. I'm surprised that he lost to Chuck.

FYI- K1 is all stand-up. It's international rules kickboxing. They allow throws, but the fighters are then stood up afterwards. There is no matt work involved.
