Trusting your powder supplier

I had a regular source that has now gone out of business. So I decided I might try my hand at home brewing.
I know the rules and I'm not openly asking for powder sources, in fact I have already come across a few.
My question though, is there any way to tell that what I'm buying from them is quality powder? Are there any red flags to be looking for?
I guess I'm just a bit suspicious of products that come from china and what they do or don't have in them.
Thanks

melting point test

Any idea how much all the equipment would cost me to get started?
I know I'd need some glass to make the powder in, vials, filters.... What else would be a minimum for a first try?

Probably get yourself a test kit for arsenic and lead too, I think each one is around $15. A melting point alone won't give you that info, It'll just tell you if its the correct powder.
I'd stay away from any mainstream powder sources, IE advertised on open boards..... Most of them are dicks. There's a ton of legit guys out there falling over themselves to help you out.

Good luck.

That's an awesome place for that stuff. Up here the only place that sells BB and BA charges $100 a liter lol, and a crimper is around $300..... I should start a lab supply business!

Scale that can measure at least to .00 or .000...about $25 at Amazon. Unless you plan on making everything you bought, then you probably don't need one. But I would get one anyway to make sure you're getting what you are paying for.

I just purchased all my supplies at medical-and-lab-supplies. Total without scale was about $60 shipped. That includes, 6 20ml sterile vials, 5 Whatman sterile .2um filters, 50ml Benzyl Alcohol USP, 50ml Benzyl Benzoate USP, 100ml Cottonseed Oil, 20ml & 3ml size syringe w/ 18ga needles, and 250ml glass beaker. This is will brew more then 120ml gear, with plenty of BA and BB left over for a few more runs.

Depending what ester you are brewing you could omit the BB to save a few bucks. And you could buy your carrier oil at your local grocery store and get double the ml for about the same price.

BB is cheap, use it

Why would he not need a scale, if he plans,
to brew everything he buys.

BB is cheap..but not needed with all brews. Just giving options, not dictating. To each their own.

If he is buying a small amount of power, (ie 50g,) and trusts his supplier then a scale is not required. Just throw all your power in the beaker and carrier on. A scale is required if you plan on making blends or smaller batches from your bulk purchase....just another option.

If you trust your powder source, who might not even
know himself, that he gave you more or less powder,
, to get your weight right on, then you go for it.

As for the other guy.. Get a scale

How much BA you adding to the oil without BB?.. wing it guy

Certain things to look out for is test e will melt between your fingers, tren once brewed with cottonseed oil will turn into golden goodness vs test e which will be clear, and any real test prop will cause soreness.

Once you brew your own you'll never buy from UGL again.

Had a buddy keep his brew in glass jars and boils them after long storage. He then transferred to vials for usage.

Yea, my Test E powder was always moist.

So, it's the cotton-seed oil that gives that color? Nice to know now

Once you brew yourself, you HOPE to
be able, to keep brewing, for yourself :D

I really don't mind spending $300 or so every 10 weeks,
but yes, I would like to be brewing again.

My older... from last source... 100mg Test Prop
is not very painful, which did worry me some.

Blood tests always solves the is it real prop or cyp questions. Prop always leaves a sore lump that clears in one or two days for me.

If ya brewed with grapeseed oil it leaves test solution with that antifreeze color.

I would not trust a melting point test in the oven. Even using a meltemp machine isn't 100%. Too long to explain here but take an undergrad ochem lab and see why. Besides UGL don't go through this trouble and guys use them everyday.

If you want quality powders go to guys that don't advertise on boards. They are found surprisingly on google.

Besides, water based Winny, this 300mg/ml
stuff is the most painful I ever used.

100mg of each Test Prop, Drost Prop, and Tren A.

Did 1ml in outer quad Wed and still can't walk good,
even with Ibuprofen.

Is it gold plated?

If, you plan to brew just for you and friends
then you won't need a crimper or de-crimper

Also, don't bake, instead just boil.
It's easier and faster

It should be gold plated at that price. You guys have way more option when it comes to buying supplies.... I think a gallon of ba/bb is $100 in the US, we pay that for a liter...... gallon = 4.5 liters.
Insane markups.

A gallon? You buying only that little, you mind as well not brew.

I have to pay New England Motor Freight trucking company
to bring in my 500 gallon barrels of BA and BB.

My filters are the size of 26" rims, and no they don't spin.

I have a question, what do you say when your wife and 5 year old son come home and see the chemistry set? [:o)]
