Supplement/Medication Optimal Absorption/Interactions

So I'm taking T4, Iron, Magnesium/Multivitamin and Ubiquinol and apparently I have to time them perfectly for optimal absorption.

  • T4 — have to wait two hours to consume any dairy/protein and have to wait four hours to consume any calcium, iron, magnesium/Multivitamin to avoid blunting absorption
  • Iron — have to wait like 4 hours after my T4 dose, I can’t take any magnesium/multivitamin, calcium, alongside my iron for another two hours.
  • Magnesium / Multivitamin — apparently it blunts everything so I have to dose it separately, preferably pre-bed at night.
  • Ubiquinol — least of my concerns, but apparently I need some fats (a good amount) in my diet for it to be fully absorbed, and on a cut I’m mostly low fat to save calories.

So first of all, seems like my ninja creami with almond mil/milk, is basically useless for majority of the day.

Let's say I train fasted AM and take my T4, 2 hours later I eat smth, (no more ninja creami pints),

Then I have to wait another 2 hours for iron and also make sure I don't consume any calcium. I usually go out so I should be carrying my iron pills around like a psycho?

Meanwhile my Ubiquinol needs a certain amount of fat to get absorbed.

Seems very hectic, I have an Iron deficiency so I recently added iron and it seems to cause alot of mess.

I know this can be considered over-the-top but research indicated that iron and t4 and calcium are very strong interaction that majorly blunts abortion

Maybe @Ghoul can help. I'm looking into deep research and the more I search, the more it seems impossible to optimize.

Dont know where you have taken those informations but looks like a load of bullshit.

30 minutes after taking T4 you can eat no problem.

Magnesium blunt everything? Lol

You should reevaluate your sources

Yes, you can eat 30–60 min after T4. But iron, calcium, and magnesium still need 4 hours away from levothyroxine or you risk under-absorption, it’s in the FDA label, StatPearls, and ATA materials.

Magnesium and T4:

Magnesium antacids bind levothyroxine and reduce absorption (10193669).

Source: Intestinal adsorption of levothyroxine by antacids and laxatives: case stories and in vitro experiments - PubMed

Magnesium and Iron:

“Magnesium hydroxide administered after oral iron significantly decreased the area under the curve (AUC) of serum iron compared to iron alone.”

Source: Clinical Manifestations and Long-term Outcomes of IgG4-Related Kidney and Retroperitoneal Involvement in a United Kingdom IgG4-Related Disease Cohort - PubMed

“Long-term magnesium oxide administration was associated with iron deficiency anemia. The mechanism was considered to be impaired intestinal absorption of iron.”

Source: Generalized glycogenosis in Brahman-derived breeds: diagnosis and prevalence in Argentina - PubMed

For the food timing:
Conclusion was: T4 fasted with water; wait 30–60 min before food, longer for minerals.

Yeah but I don't see the issue just take magnesium with other pills in the evening before bed, helps to sleep as well.

You are overcomplicating your life by a lot.

Yeah magnesium wasn’t an issue, the main issue is how iron and t4 have this weird interaction and apparently calcium/dairy is a big no no which also negated the use of protein powders.

Only mentioned magnesium/multi cuz I take them at night so I can’t dose my iron at night. (Which would be the logical step without magnesium/multi in the mix)

If you wait 30 minutes you can gulp down a protein shake no problem afterwards, just don't drink it with milk. Get the iron at lunch, get the magnesium at night.

Protein shake would have 100-200 calcium which blunts it. Rly shit tbh, I have a rushed morning, so I usually opt for quick protein.

Usually take T4, train for 2 hours, post workout meal, then go out.

And I can’t consume calcium/dairy post T4 because I have an Iron supplement then I take my iron and can’t have any calcium/dairy before or after.

Fun fact: Coffee is also a big no, it can reduce absorption by 30-40%.

Feels too fucked up to adhere to, no milk/cheese/protein powder/coffee.

Imma just say fk it and re-asses my levels after doing wtf I want. I doubt ppl prescribed rly adhere this much.

But the Pharmakinetics of these supplements/meds are just very fcked up
