Sterilization to produce a big batch? help.

Hi guys. I'm planning on doing my own vials... doing a batch of about 85 vials. Still, some questions remain regarding the subject of sterilization.
If you could answer any of these questions, and give or add any information that might be usefor i'd very much apreciate.
Excluding autoclaves, wich i dont have access to, whats the best method to sterilize, using preassure cookers, IPA, ovens and bleach:

1.a big load of vials (without leaving any water, mineral deposits inside)
2. large media glass bottles (these cant go inside ovens)

Im planning on sterilize the vials, and only crimp them as soon as the oil is inside, in order to avoid the romval of the flip off cap and the perfuration of the rubber stopper. If you jave any detailed process to do all this, please share.
Also, many thanks in advance.

Hope you don't plan on offering product to the members on this site. Sounds like you are about to create a major health risk to others.
I could be jumping the gun of course.

i do not intend to give it to anyone, nor sell it. I've tested my gear many times and never had an issue. I'm just not experienced YET in putting it into vials and all..

Stating your intentions is helpful. There are a lot of individuals that don't want to do the research and simply want an answer.
If you do not get any replies on this, I would post a new thread and change the subject to something along the lines of. " Need advice on proper sterilization" State that its for personal use and you do have some basic knowledge on home brew.
Be careful and good luck.

Order pre steril vials, already sealed ,
its been best for me and the cost will outway the issues with trying to do it and woundering if you did it rite.
I ts hard to find good powder sources i look myself only getting lucky once in a while.are you in the states,

ALL glass gets baked at 270F for 6 hours.

Yes, 6.

Not 5, not 2 - SIX.

You can use a regular electric oven - there is nothing special about a lab oven that costs 10x the price of a cheap electric oven from your local appliance store.

Cover the vials with parchment before baking - unless you can get lab grade silicone sheets - either way, you are protecting the vials against airborne contamination during cooldown and before you get them in the downdraft cabinet.

A brownie pan can serve to hold vials upright - just as good as a custom stainless steel pan.

Your media bottles had better fit, the largest is one liter and I can fit two cases of them in my oven - if I really wanted too - LOL.

"Can't fit" is no excuse.

Infections suck, MRSA sucks worse.

Septum stoppers, media bottle caps, tools, etc are autoclaved.

Don't have an autoclave? buy pre-sterilized sealed vials, although I'd say stop being cheap. pre-sterilized vials have their own issues, mostly with horrendously bad procedure.

The proper procedure would be.

Mix required compounds, prefilter if needed, vacuum filter thru an 0.2uM filter into a sterilized bottle. Cap each bottle... repeat as needed

The Corning filter units are pre-sterilized, right down to the caps - which come in separate little sterile baggies inside the main sterile baggie.

They are available in 250, 500, and 1000ml sizes.

If you use the complete units and are going to vial within a week or so, there is NO NEED to use a media bottle other than the plastic one on the filter unit.

Get the bottles, vials, and septa into your downdraft.

When ready to vial, you use something like a dispensette III that you just pulled out of an autoclave bag with sterile gloves and it replaces the cap on your sterile liquid.

From there, it's:

1) Dispense into a vial (push pump once - voila 10ml +/- 0.5%)
2) Cap vial with a autoclave sterilized septa

All with sterile gloves that you haven't touched a non-sterilized surface/item with.

Repeat 1 & 2 until it's all vialed up

Crimp on the rings.

Done

If you aren't doing it this way, then don't do it.

(A lot of UG labs don't have a procedure anywhere like this, BTW)

Hey, you wanted to know, right? [:o)]

ive always used the oven bro. 275 for 15 min. repeat 3 times. solution is 1% ba. bb is your main solvent. let it cool between each 15min.
never had any problems. imo i feel beter about my stuff than any ug stuff.

An alcohol soak also works, sterile environment is also really important. Boiling in distilled water can also be another method. How you handle/ where you place the vials is the next important thing.
