I also take a b complex but I just mentioned the ones specific to supporting mitochondria.
They all are also involved in support the mito's directly and indirectly, there are many more things to do for the mitochondrial health. I ended with a list of like 30 things myself.

Have you noticed any significant changes in bloodwork running SS-31? In my experience my total cholesterol and inflammation markers went down, wondering if have the same experience

Mitochondria are more plentiful in white muscle tissue and less in red muscle. So the gauge of performance would be low intensity movements.

If you want immediate feels you should have taken nmn. Its a lot more noticeable than ss31.

How do I claim mitochondrial damage?

1. Knee surgery in the 90s. I read up and every general anesthetic would do that to you.

2. Worked for 15 years in chemical lab. The safety standards of the places I've been to are poor. Heavy solvent vapours.

3. Recent back to back to back fevers lasting from 2 to 3 weeks.

From 1, many back sprains and lesion on right neck that would trigger temporary blindness and vomiting

From 2, unexpected cramps from a day after leg workout to hours after leg workout as age progressed

From 3, massive weight loss and inability to sustain workout. Would always get back spasms after 2 weeks into medium weight squats

So my observation is impaired mito function leading to slower healing from exercise to zero healing from any strenuous activity.

Trt would give a boost, but no sustain
GH would heal tissue, also no breakthrough

Nmn was the breakthrough. More sets without fatigue. Went off trt. Did hgh with nmn. Was working. Could run longer and longer. Squats back to normal volume, intensity.

It got so much better i decided to buy mots c and ss 31 to try.

First shot ss31 2.5 mg before bed, same as you, no feels. Woke up next day knee soreness on the side i injected reduced by a lot. Morning cardio felt easy. Didn't take nmn for a while. Usually have neck and shoulder aches after 3 hours at work with manual tools. Whole day no aches.

Second 5 mg ( 2 hours ago). Heavy pins and needles in left leg. Felt like electricity. Did some chores in a body position that strains my neck usually. No strain.

Even though its only two shots

It seems to be more for recovery than stimulus. Mostly for postural muscles.

After work went for a walk

Gonna run treadmill tomorrow and see what the fatigue is like if any

Cramps, no old man cramps please. Hope this significantly decreases the hamstring cramps

I used have headaches, nausea and loss of vision from racking heavy weights.
I have tried magnesium and taurine during this event. I will puke it out, no effect. I have tried electrolytes. Same.


There's a spot on my neck that if i fatigue it, will trigger all these. This will be my bench mark for cramps as well. If i can recover from a big lesion, the cramps should not appear in otherwise rested situations.


Guess what works? Thiamine. Lesser puking, but still puking.

Guess what prevents that spot on the neck from triggering?

I've done them individually and in combination.

So i decided by elimination. Hgh and nmn, optimal. No need test for now.

Bought ss31 and motsc to replace nmn if possible

So far 3 doses of ss31. Today treadmill results will show me if ss31 is helping or not.
 
Took leave from work today

Treadmill went as expected, added workload no fatigue no old man cramps

And little fatigue after running at that speed

Which is what it's supposed to be

But if it was me without ss31, cramps, low workout rest of the week

All felt good until second half of the day. Took viagra.

It will negate the effects of ss31. Still having background headache now.

The shit thing is the neck weakness is back. Postural muscles feel sore without exertion.

Gonna let this clear before next ss31 dose.
 
4th ss31 shot last night 5 mg. Subq.

Today treadmill, bounced back from all the sides of viagra

But, resting heart rate 95. Because viagra. Heart muscle felt wrong.

Ran further again, took a shit after. Heart felt better.

The wife and I did a short ss31 run at 1mg 5 on 2 off and are now doing motsc at 1mg M,W,F. We did feel some response to SS31, not sure if it was placebo but we will be doing another run for longer shortly.

1mg is pretty low for SS-31, fda approval is for 40mg/day and most people to at least 5mg/day. I ran mine at 16mg.

Yeah, the problem with doses on peptides is they are all over the place! We didn't want to start high as its our first time doing any peptides. 16mg would cost us a small fortune when we first started as we knew nothing about ugl
 
Somewhere in Thailand

- Found the point where the cardio volume exceeds 5 mg ss31 dose (every 4 days).
- Now 5 mg every night. If i decide to run more i think 5 mg immediately post workout.
- I get this lack of carbs headache that tells me to inject, sleep and recover.

- didn't bring hgh with me. Just ss31 alone.

Found a short fat brown snake in the toilet. Not sure if venomous. Staff got rid of it.

Update on ss31 usage

Still using, still 5mg per shot, but backed off to 2-3 times a week. Everytime with hgh. Still no trt.

Running 5 times a week, switched to afternoon runs. Maybe that's why. Glycogen from lunch.

Nowadays started lifting in the mornings.
 
TMG seems to work for most people.

No offense here, but I have to disagree with that, I'm convinced that's placebo. I remember the first time this was posted by this guy on Reddit and he started posting it in every single SS-31 thread. The rumor spread, and now many people are just repeating it on all kinds of forums and discord.

SS-31 works by directly binding to cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane (to stabilize ETC complexes, reduce ROS, and inhibit mPTP formation). That mechanism does not involve methyltransferase activity and neither does it involve one-carbon metabolism.

TMG, and other methyl donors for that matter, have several functions where they donate methyl groups (mostly within BHMT) to processes like DNA/RNA synthesis and homocysteine metabolism. SS-31 doesn't participate in those cycles.

The idea likely originated because of secondary interactions, not direct peptide mechanisms. When SS-31 improves mitochondrial efficiency and ATP output, it can ramp up a bunch of other ATP dependent processes, including methylation reactions that rely on SAMe. So if someone’s already got sluggish methylation, like higher homocysteine, low folate/B12, or an MTHFR variant, you might feel a bit off when their metabolism suddenly speeds up (fatigue, headaches, brain fog, etc.). In that case, adding something like TMG or B vitamins might help because it supports the body’s own capacity to handle the extra energy load. It’s not that SS-31 needs a methyl donor, it’s just that some people’s systems do better with that extra support when mitochondrial output increases. I am one of those people, without the added support I was non functioning. Is it needed by everyone? No, but it is a simple addition that can support your body so you are running ahead of the game and not behind.
