Want to Enhance Endurance for Soccer and Basketball while "minimizing danger" from substances

Hi Everyone,
I'm in my 40s and enjoy playing pickup soccer and basketball and trying to increase/enhance my endurance, especially in terms of going on explosive sprints repeatedly in those sports over the duration of many pickup games/sessions. But I want to do it in a way that "minimizes" risk. To me, that excludes EPO, Cardarine (cancer), and some things like that. I know that sounds really subjective, but yeah. In another life a couple decades ago, I went all-out on PEDs (without blood tests) and lived a bit on the edge as a young guy (I really didn't care and tested a bunch of shit in varying dosages on my body with no hesitation). But now, with family and a career and stuff like that, I want to be a little bit "smarter" while still taking some chances to enhance myself and be more happy in my life.

I saw tons of recommendations for EPO, and some for GW (Cardarine), but I saw very little other recommendations for things like MOTS-c, SLU-PP-332, and maybe other things I don't know about. Can anyone give me advice on what "safer than EPO but quite effective" substances I can take and dosages? I was thinking about using SLU, SS-31, MOTS-c, NAD+, and Meldonium. Am I totally crazy and wasting my money? Also, does anyone have real endurance-focused experience (not just using it for bodybuilding) using any of the substances that I mention (SLU, SS, MOTS-c, NAD+, etc)? And is there something I am missing that you can recommend? Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Thanks.

Good call on this.

I think the results you would experience from all those peptides will be underwhelming. Maybe a bit of a boost in energy, but you aren't going to experience significant performance enhancement.

If you really want to minimize risk, injecting your self with illegal experimental UGL peptides from China isn't worth it. Especially for only a possible small energy boost to play pickup soccer and basketball. Sounds like a bad idea.

You'd be much better off doing exercises to strengthen your cardio vascular endurance and locking in your diet.

I hear you. But I really want to try these on myself, as I think they are low-risk enough (and I don't plan on taking massive doses, especially in the beginning, until I have a grasp on their effect). Have you tried any of those substances? I take it you weren't impressed with any of them?

No, because I researched them and decided the marginal reward wasn't worth the risk. There is limited research and data on those peptides, so you really have no idea what you're getting into and the long term effects they could have.

Go ahead and buy them and I'll wait for your post on how you got scammed by a Chinese vendor or that you got them and they barely did shit to help you with pickup basketball.

You're literally doing this same thing except with peptides. Except we actually have comprehensive literature on the effects of AAS.
Am I totally crazy and wasting my money?
Yes.

Start with bloodwork.

I’ll say this, for a guy in his 40’s, I think something very straightforward, with a well defined and manageable risk profile, that can have a major payoff on endurance would be optimizing Testosterone, and this is the unexpected one, growth hormone.

The TLDR is both optimize the function of the other, but the payoff comes in the form of respiratory capacity. It seems the muscles involved in breathing lose responsiveness to anabolic signals fairly early, and there’s a steady decline that starts in the early 30s.

It’s effective enough that rHGH is sometimes used “off label” to effectively restore the muscles involved in breathing when they’ve atrophied in someone who’s been on a respirator for months.

I noticed a significant improvement in aerobic capacity. I wasn’t wheezing before, finding myself out of breath, or anything like that, but I’m constantly impressed by how much more deeply I breathe these days.
