@Oregongearhead has a great food thread going with lots of great knowledge and tips on nutrition and recipes.
If you haven't checked it out, do so now!

I'm looking for something just a bit more specific though... I want to know what spices/seasonings/sauces you use with your foods.

I usually stick to ground beef, chicken sausage, fish, eggs and whites as far as protein sources go, but I'm always looking for new ways to flavor them.

I've been trying to find good hot sauces, especially.
I know @Perrin Aybara and I had talked a while about about the good ol' Mrs Dash extra spicey. From the looks of it, she's come out with some new spices too!

Here's a couple of my go-to spices and sauces.

What are your favorites?
Any certain blends you use? (ie for fish I use lemon pepper, garlic, and jalapeño)

Let me know! I'm interested.

PS... I know it's t bell hot sauce there on the left, but it was $1 at Kroger and it's surprisingly good.

Mrs Dash is a staple for sure.

I always have:
Cayenne Pepper
Chili Flakes
White ground pepper
garlic powder (sodium free)
onion powder (sodium free)
Lemon Salt
Fresh Black Peppercorns
Fresh Pink Peppercorns
Old Bay
Fresh Parsley, Mint, Sage, Thyme, and Basil (get these as seasoning if you can't do fresh)

For sauces:
Sodium Free Chick Stock
Sodium Free Beef Stock

That's the basics, always have items. You can get other items that are bit more rare to use, but great to have like star anise, turmeric, cumin, cinnamon, etc.

Haha! Mrs Dash for the win!
Sounds like we have similar cabinets. Cumin is a huge one for my ground beef.
I don't use stock much unless I make rice, which is a very rare occurrence.

Ugh, forgot paprika, and smoked paprika - staples as well.

I use stock to make sauces - sear up your meat and seasoning, once it's done, dump a cup of stock in the pan and let that mix with the charred crispies, reduce. Once reduced, add just a tab (1/2 tablespoon) of unsalted real butter, with the heat off. Heating the butter will just break the sauce.

Good 2 go.

Worcester sauce has been good to me lately. Low carb BBQ sauce alternative

Have you guys ever tried the Cajon seasoning called slap yo mamma? If you haven't and you like spicy, check it out... to many great hot sauces out there to name them but I love them all.... something else I like to do if I'm making chicken is take a whole jar of jalapenos, empty out about half the juice , and then dump everything in to a blender... puree that and it basically makes a jalapeño salsa... add some garlic and a little onion and it's excellent over chicken and rice...

My favorite seasoning is the Zatarain's Blackened.

Best hot sauce imo is the green one.

All you ever needView attachment 47466Favorite is the middle one, tiger sauce, freaking delicious.

Asian style heat; right up my ally.

I love me some hot stuff, but usually, us in the USA just don't get the heat/flavor combo right. Thai food on the other hand, HOT AS FUCK, and so damn delicious you can't stop eating it.
Blazing Hot hot-wings from BWW is the perfect example of bad heat. Hot, and tastes like shit.

I gotta respectfully disagree with you on the blazen wings..... imo the habanero is the hot pepper with the best flavor out there... ofcourse bww did change up their recipe for the blazen if I'm not mistaken... now they use ghost chilis???,
Agree with you on the Thai food tho.... love it....

Interesting. I thought the King of Heat would be Mexico.

I like good ole fashioned salt and black pepper. I also use garlic powder, onion powder, and fajita seasoning by Nadia spices. They also have this stuff called adobo seasoning that is awesome on ground beef. I use just salt and pepper on my eggs.
Smoked paprika, cumin, liquid smoke, and Italian dressing are staples for me.
Thanks guys, I'm hungry now.
