Shortness of breath

Update. On thursday night while chewing my jaw joints started aching badly. 10 minutes later i suffered a sudden loss of 75% of my hearing, in an instant, with intense pain radiating through my head, ears, and jaw. The hearing loss still persists to today.

On friday i went to the ENT doctor, severe inflammation of my ear drums and middle ear infections in both ears with large fluid buildup. Wtf.

Im now on oral anti biotics, intranasal corticosteroids, antihistamines, decongestants, and 3x a day saline nasal irrigation.

Lots of really green thick mucus coming out of me.

Breathing and o2 is stable and back to normal. Unsure wtf is going on with me but this is pissing me off. The hearing loss is severe i feel almost deaf. Very disorientating as i cannot interpret the direction of sounds, i can only barely hear them.

Cant workout as pressure changes from straining cause pain in my ears and head. Pains been gone otherwise except this morning one of my ears is back to pain albeit mildly.

I gotta say 2022 has been off to a shit start for me. Nothing but health problems since new year eve.

This fluid in my ears doesnt seem to want to leave. Will see ENT again this friday when my antibiotic run ends. If fluid hasnt left my ears i may need the ear drums punctured to drain it out.

i have a genetic cardiomyopthy (NON-COMPACTION Cardiomyopathy)
high doses of crappy quality (high dimer) hgh led to high water retention for me which led to decompensation of the heart failure (so it went into acute stage and led to some damage to the heart). My Mitral valve is highly impacted, the other valves only "medium"
Jesus. That fucking sucks man. Hope your recovered now (recovering?)

FWIW, I had covid recently and did not do the post covid zpac like everyone else. Shit got ugly in a hurry so I had to break down and get Azith with some Prednisone.

Even 10 days after antibiotics I have clear fluid POURING down my throat from sinus. It has a SPECIAL Nasty-Sweet taste to it which I have never experienced in all my years. I'm certain its my body still expelling covid. But whatever. My thoughts were you have some inflammation blockage and need to get that sinus flow reversed back in the right direction... you need oral corticosteroids stat - IF ALL THEY GAVE YOU IS NASAL SHOTS THEY SHOULD BE BEATEN... I dont understand why you are not on a healthy dose of Prednisone???. If not already I would even lobby for one of those steroid 5 day kick-ass packs at this point...

92 on an O2 readout is underrated for many. I was there once and it felt like I was gonna die. That's just fuking Covid and that shit comes and goes. Some days I can't catch my breath to hit the water fountain at the gym. Then the very next day I rock on a stepper or some shit and never get my pulse over 145. No rhyme or reason so it seems. Just insanity...

FYI - SPIT EVERYTHING OUT. Don't swallow mucus down you are just increasing the viral load your body is attempting to excrete. Most folks, docs included, don't realize the sinuses are basically a kidney and excrete stuff directly from blood circulation. Acting as an air filter is just some of the business they do. Don't ask me how I know this... :)

Sounds like hell bro. Appreciate hearing your experiences. My ENT said the ear infections are probably bacterial, but she suggested given the fluctuating O2 that i might have covid as well. I did do some waterfall cliff jumping last sunday and that blasted tons of tropical river water up into my sinuses, likely what introduced the nasty bacteria leading to what im dealing with now.

Im really debating if i should go get tested just so i can rule out covid if i am negative. I dont feel too too bad right now its just all the fluid in my ears is really fucking with me mentally. I look like shit too, shedding weight and not taking good care of my appearance right now. I always veg out bad when im sick.

I dont know why im not on prednisone. Im just doing what the doc said. My sinuses feel good, now its my ears that are fucked.

Jesus. That fucking sucks man. Hope your recovered now (recovering?)
right now i am doing pretty good but i had to sacrifice the whole "bodybuilding lifestyle" more or less and get back to a "healthy" weight which, at first and even now, is quite hard to cope with mentally.
The sport was (and still is but differently) my life. Started 12 years ago and built my life completely around bodybuilding. Zero alcohol, zero parties, no late nights, nothing that disturbts recovery, did my workouts no matter what, ate my own food at family diners etc..
so the first months about this incident were pretty rough because i knew i can no longer do bodybuilding with everything that is involved. A very hard part (apart from the condition itself) was to realize that i was too stubborn all these years since my genetics will always prevent me from being really good in the sports and sacrificing everything for it is not worth it.
So right now, i am 20kg down from last year february, less muscular but i still look pretty good (of course also water and fat down)
I still lift more or less everyday but those are shorter sessions (maximum an hour) and i avoid excersises like DL, Squats, heavy free weight rows, etc. I also very rarely go to failure or beyond. No holding breath. + minumum 30min cardio daily. Eating also changed, of course i eat less but i am also more flexible. If i want to eat a slice of bread i eat a fucking slice of bread.
The condition itself got better after implementing those lifestyle changes. My EF is back to close to 40% and the best thing is my heart size went down by 0,2cm which is a very good thing because reverse heart remodelling is a sign of very good prognosis..

Update again. Last night began experiencing incredibly intense pain in my right ear this time. Some of the worst pain ive ever experienced, like lightning bolts shooting across my cheek, down my jaw, and behind my eyeball. Despite taking celocoxib, tramadol, cetirizine, oxymetazoline, acetaminophen, and dexamethasone the pain continued to get worse. I was groaning in extreme pain for 3 hours, my GF kept trying to convince me to goto the ER but i refused.

Suddenly started hearing weird sound inside the ear, like something was crawling around inside my middle ear. I thought maybe it was draining into my eustachian tubes finally, but no, it was actually my ear drum being pulled tight from the fluid buildup reaching critical mass. Then it fucking burst in epic fashion. From extreme pain to complete relief in about 3 seconds, it was amazing ive never gone from feeling so much pain to feeling nothing so instantly. Suddenly i could also hear again. All kinds of yellow and pink fluid began leaking out my ear canal and continued pouring out all night long which we kept cleaning up with cotton swabs and balls.

Went to the ENT today for a damage report, confirmed the ear drum ruptured from infectious fluid build up, she estimates about 10% of my ear drum surface is perforated. Ive had a perforated ear drum before from skydiving its not a big issue it will likely heal shut within 2 weeks. But i cannot freedive, surf, or swim until it heals sadly.

Left ear still remains full of fluid and hearing is still messed up. Hoping that side will resolve itself because i do not want to endure that pain again. O2 has been stable at 98-99% for days now, lungs feel fine. Thats the 411 on my shit.

That all sux. Surely you have had a POS covid diagnosis. ?? That shit is killing people all over... They are actually starting to drop dead a year after the virus and then months after getting vaccinated on top of it. Pretty scary. I think with TIME and if there is no permanent damage you will return eventually. Make take a year with your light workout. That's essentially how I have dealt with it all. Just stick with it to whatever degree you can, and fuk the assholes that did this...

With me is more like... "If I want a Carnitas dinner - then fuck it I will have one" And with extra guac and sour creme too.... LOL

Hang in there...

Did you ever ask why no systemic cortic steroids? There's a lot of space outside the skull that seems very active with fluids. I once saw a guy with a festering infection on his head right behind his ear and it just exploded one day. SO MUCH GREEN JUICE CAME OUT. It shot like 5 feet and splattered a wall. Not unlike the time I shit on my wife one morning trying to fart on her and blow her hair back.. And to think that was all outside his skull just festering back around his neck and rear head.

So You go back to this ENT, show her your your eardrum blew out, and she still does not tube the other. What antibiotics are you on again? I'm thinking she is a MAN-HATER and wants you dead. You should re-evaluate your choice in docs asap... You are on the verge on being hospitalized...

Hey there,
thanks for your words.
I am still not sure what exactly triggered all that. I know that in february 2020 i had a massive sickness (8 days in total where i was completely bed ridden with fever, sweating buckets during the night - sometimes had to switch shirts 6-7 times a night etc.) but back then corona was just "arriving" so there were no tests done. And i am not sure how long back the antibody tests work.
My vaccines were post the first incident, so i can rule that how. However, the booster vaccine brought me back into acute state (decompensated heart insufficiency) which led to me being 17 days in hospital during january.
Yeah, i am giving my best and right now i am feeling quite okayish. My heart also got better again (had a new echo last week thursday) which is a good sign.

Actually when i last went i asked her about perforating the other eardrum. She said its better to avoid it if possible, it does seem to be slowwwwllyy improving. Also i had no interest in tubes, perforation i was up for but not tubes as the hole for the tubes and complete rehealing time is much larger and longer verse just a small perforation. My middle ear and Eustachian tubes are like the most critical part of my body with regards to my hobbies, like all my hobbies seem to require optimal functioning of my ears (freediving, surfing, swimming, cliff diving, skydiving, paragliding, kite surfing, etc) so i really need my eardrums to heal and be unperforated ASAP so tubes was not desireable at all for me.

After your previous post i told her i wanted an oral corticosteroid. So she RXd me Dexamethasone which ive been taking since and definitely seems to be helping more than the intra-nasal steroid although im also taking that still.

Im on clarithromycin and she extended my RX from 7 days to 14 days to help make sure this fully resolves. My skins looking great!

I dont want to jump the gun but i think the overall situation is steadily improving since the bursting climax. Fingers crossed.

Now my GF is sick for past few days, her O2 hit 89% the otherday, but its stabilizing higher now, shes coughing a lot and sore throat.

Gives me more belief this is all COVID shit but im still confused if i was reinfected or if this is just a resurrection of my initial infection back in early January, ive read of COVID seeming to go away then comeback with a vengeance in a lot of people which might be whats happened here.

COvid is gonna kill us all. Im gonna post on that in a min. I'm having a moment...

But I'm glad you are turning up at least a little. FYI - I THINK the whole point of a tubal is to prevent a big ass explosive tear in the eardrum. Still not sure what page yer doc is on and I am just a dumb-shit patient.. Maybe once the payload and pressure gets so high the risk of blowing the whole thing out increases without using a massive pin is my best guess.. Then again maybe she just does not want to get her face sprayed. LOL.. But, Hopefully the steroids will hopefully get you draining in the right direction... I'm not sure if I have ever had that particular cortico-S unless its that descending pack that blows your blood sugar off the charts in no time flat. I think they all do a little of that.. .

Good luck on the Clarithromycin its some good mojo and hopefully you have a tough gut. I used to take that one when younger and always had to get the brand EES (Ext release). That's some strong stomach mojo had me shitting and barfing at the same time when a dentist once pre-treated me with a megadose of the straight up IR.. IT WAS HOURS OF UGLY.. LOL

FYI - I also suspect they have been trying to get Clarithromycin out of circulation to refresh the immunity Kill Factor as I have not been prescribed that one in quite some time. What I am seeing most folks getting is Azithromycin and that third gen Cephalosporin spawned off of Keflex/ Cefdinir I think it is.. I was also surprised to see the risk of sudden heart death with Azith when I looked it up...

"Yer skin looks great". I once ran Vancomycin and Merrem Antibiotics I.V. for a week straight in the hospital for a flesh eater on my leg and I shit you not. I did not need deodorant for 3 fukking months... I was eating yogurt as fast as I could and my shit literally smelled like a sewer for the first week home.. LOL (theres some pics of that around here somewhere)..

And yea FUK on that news about yer girl. She probably has it too now. I'd stay off her for a minute and maybe she wont inherit your nasal bacteria as well. O2 Under 90 is underrated.. Change all the sheets and shit and remember viral loading is key. Don't sit around coughing on each other... I'd wash linens daily if you are in the same bed. Get some light blankets easy to wash too. Remember the MOST IMPORTANT sterile environment is the one you live and cough it. If I had it to do over again I would have got one of those air cleaners that has a UVC lamp to kill viruses in the air. They are pricey. Hope the best for both of ya.. :)

Well all had (everyone) alpha back in late 2019 or early 2020. My guess would be Delta was the ramped up version for those that did not catch alpha. I swear we have been getting dosed by the powers that be with some bullshit for the last 10 years and they must have finally got it just right to fuck us good. Early 2020 is when a lot of folks complain of getting it. I dont even think they could test before march or April, but still I know I had it in 2019 simply because a dude I worked out with just about died (Dec 2019) and lost his voice for a couple months after 9 days in the hospital citing "He couldn't breathe at all for three days of the time he was hospitalized". And he's a bad mutherfukker... They never even told him what he had /they did not know or were not allowed to say. I think December of 2019 was when the docs started saying "You might be asked to wear a mask when you arrive." That was about it. But me and my wife were sitting around laughing about the fact that we could not smell shit (literally) in November of 2019. It barely touched her ( I swear her adderall bullitproofed her ass) but I was fukked for a year overall. I soon got crazy whelps all over my back one night and then some crazy tacycardia for a day or two were the most extreme occurrences related. The DEEP cough lasted quite a while. Shit I coughed so much I figured out the way to clear a lung deeply was to lay on that side when coughing. It was UGLY.. It was real bad notably on the ATP system and general energy and for a LONG TIME..

OH. Yea, I don't know if I will take the vaccine. Like I have said that seems more like getting beat up to prepare for a fight. Historically it will go down as the most active viral dosed vaccine in to date. But it seems like pouring diesel on a smoldering fire to me. Just more spike proteins in the mix. I dont know I'm really getting convinced it will kill me soon enough. I'm heading over to the "Will you get the vaccine thread to rant a min now". Good luck and hang tight.

Ran into heart palpitation issues for the past 36 hours. Did some poking around and Clarithromycin is connected to such, so i skipped my evening dose yesterday, no palpitations today. Will redose today but if palps come back im going to end my antibiotic run.

Also got hit bad yesterday with shortness of breath again, out of the blue, struggling to breath for a few hours then it went away. Did a workout few hoirs earlier yesterday, started with 2 sets of squats just to warm up not even heavy, was gasping bad had to rest for 10 mins before i could continue the workout. Oddly my aerobic stuff like jogging is consistently improving but as soon as i do anything anaerobic i get absolutely gassed from it. Kind of depressing, seems like it will be a long road to recovery from here.

Gf was struggling with bad SOB yesterday too. My ears on the otherhand seem almost fully back to normal, hearing is like 90%+ restored.

Really only issue is this coming and going shortness of breath that seems totally random. Other than that i dont feel too bad. But ive lost like 30% of my strength on compound lifts, but isolation work my strengths the same. It seems like the more overall taxing an exercise is the more gassed the fuck out it hits me with this shit. Im not even sure its strength loss, rather just some cardiovascular inability to perform the big lifts withoit wanting to pass out.

Clarithromycin can cause long-qt syndrome. There's a good chance it resolves if you stop taking it.

Don't mess around with your heart. Hope you feel better soon bro.

Had to google this long QT syndrome but seems you are correct. Appreciate the input. Starting to get uncomfortable at the prospect of finishing the regimen. On day 9 now and feel like the infection in the ears is pretty much resolved so not sure theres much reason to carry on with the antibiotic at this point.

Like I said on the cardio anaerobic failure and randomness of general shortness of breath. That's not antibiotics that's covid. 50/50 the palps are Covid as well. But if they were limited to a few over the course of an hour or two it might very well have been the Clarithromycin. Personally, I just hammered a couple of beers and tried to chill. Then I stayed the course of the last two days of Azith the next afternoon. I also have a benzo which stabilizes that shit I think...

Two weeks on Clarithro is a LONG Run for anyone. Dont stop antibiotics altogether unless you got at least 10 days considering how bad yer shit was. Call your doc and get some Cefdinir prescribed to finish up if you only ran the clarith 5 days or so. (Looking back I see you said 9 days. I would be on the fence about that considering the severity and how long it took to get the ears draining- your call). Clearly your doc is not able cant even get you some corticos properly..

The strength loss I have been experiencing over the entire last fukking year. I have gone from working with 2 plates+ on bench to 185 and I can't explain/ its like a nightmare. Meanwhile my cardio at 300lbs is excellent. Just cant explain.. really its just my chest and shoulders that have taken the biggest hit. I can still stoke 50-60lb DBs on biceps at the same time which is new PRS. Legs are finally improving but that's a first in the whole pandemic. So go figure.

And FYI when I had heart palps with Covid ALPHA - it was crazy. I thought that I had too much citrulline or sweet tea LOL - no shit (like that would do it). My heart was doing TRICKS for an entire 24hours or more It was nuts like an 7 year old at his first time on the drums was in there... That was a covid related slam.. YOU WILL KNOW WHEN COVID HAS YER HEART ITS CRAZY... Those heart palps hit a month or two after the loss of smell and the crazy whelps all over my back. I thought I had been bitten by something or some shit no one know WTF back in 2019...

its my guess that OMICRON somehow restores aerobic function but leaves you weak in strength.. yea whatever anecdotal but i am putting it out there.

DId I mention that last night and after 5 weeks post Omicron diagnosis I went out to get in my car last night and had to stop and barf in the bushes. today its back in my gut and my lower GI was burning and my ahole is on fire too. I mean... WTF...!
