Recovery log: Tyler is going natural.

Hcg works on the testicles.
Once they are awake and working then I will drop it and use clomid.

If I don't use Hcg then it doesn't matter if my pituitary wants to produce T .... my nuts will be like nah dude we are sleeping.

That's how I understand it anyways.

I'm sure this had been asked but why gel? those are very common side effects of the gel being a shitty ROA.

Injectable test is so much better. I would guess itd solve 75% of those problems at least.

But you've made your choice and I'm glad you're trying to get healthy. May your balls prosper and spread children like the black plague

How long did you try clomid for? Typically, HCG is only necessary to determine if you are primary or secondary. If your balls are working, clomid should work, eventually. Perhaps you did not wait long enough?

All that said, I'm glad to see a post like this. I've never been on TRT, and started cycling gear 5 years ago. Funny, I swore to myself 3 years ago I would quit for good. Now, I'm making the commitment for sure. I might start my own thread, but I hope you make it.

This game of messing with our bodies is just not worth the hassle or risks. Keep at it. Chances are you will be lucky like I was. You'll recover more easily than you think, and think you can just jump back on, especially if lifting weights was your thing.

I know for me, at nearly 40, I've just given up on major weight lifting. I just don't care anymore. It's going to be all running, cycling, and swimming combined with light weights from here on out.

That is the biggest slippery slope, so caveat.

I am re-evaluating my approach to coming off. Hcg is so horrible for me.

I wonder if clomid would work (just more slowly) if I did it x2 a week WITH gel?

My original plan was Hcg for 6-8 weeks.
I dont think i can tolerate Hcg for that long.

What about two weeks of Hcg (eod, or even ed) and then discontinue?

HCG is shitty for me too. Ive tried all kinds of different doses trying to add it onto my trt but always had to stop. Anyhow I know yours is a different situation and your using it for restart purposes. I know this is total bro science but there are guys (T nation forum) that use a test taper protocol instead of pct when coming off a cycle. Maybe you can try that method and combine it with a low dose of clomid. So maybe your idea of a little bit of gel and a little bit of clomid and slowly tapering off the gel has some merit.

I think the whole concept of the bro science of "hcg wakes up your nuts so that your own LH can start to work" is total bullshit as well, no matter how many will argue it

I know for me my worst "recoveries" were when hcg was part of it, the stuff is horrible in my experience and will sabotage any protocol or recovery plan

Dude it's not bro science.
My endocrinologist told me to do that to minimize the time I spend in a hypogonadal state. His words were its to get your testes working and making testosterone again.

The link I posted earlier in the thread has a doctor explaining it very well too.

I tried just clomid last summer and failed miserably and it was a waste of time.

Restart protocol

Here's the new plan.

2 weeks Hcg
1000ius eod for 14 days
Purpose: To wake up my testes.

4 weeks Clomid
12.5mg eod for 30 days
Purpose: To get pituitary to send signal to nuts to produce testosterone.

10-12 weeks
Longjack, Horny goat weed, 15,000ius high dose vitamin d3

Purpose: To let my body take over from the clomid and try to produce its own hormones.

Is Nolva really needed?
Aside from that my PCT is very similar to this.
The doses of Hcg and Clomid are slightly lower but timing and duration is the same.

Also I didnt know you should start clomid WITH Hcg? I thought you started it after....

Dr Scally's PCT
This protocol is contrary to what is typically recommended in many forums but regardless the protocol was effective in all 19 men. This is a 100% success rate! After the HCG was discontinued both SERM’s were continued. The following is the exact protocol in laymen’s terms.

Day 1-16 : 2500iu HCG every other day.

Day 1-30 : Nolva 20mg/day; Clomid 100mg/day (50mg was taken twice per day)

Day 31-45 : Nolva 20mg/day

it is Doctors adapting bro science... show me the controlled studies that prove the theory decisively

I am just going by my own subjective experience i.e. last summer i didnt use Hcg and after 5 weeks my levels hadnt budged since stopping. And i was using clomid too.

So I am assuming that Hcg will spark up my nuts and hopefully get me going faster.

Also I doubt my endo is using bro science lol

This is a snippet of a post I made a few years ago.

It was when I was feeling good/strong/libido/etc.

My TT was 12-13nmol/L a.m. lab draw on Testim 5g.

This is the reason I am coming off treatment too. I believe I can live with low normal levels and actually feel decent. My body doesnt need a ton of T to feel good. I just need to be in the 300-400 range for my libido and energy to be functional and pretty decent.

I believe I can get into that range with diet / excercise / supps / sex / not jerking off.

It will probably be low 300's but I think that's fine for my body.

I know I was able to get to 11.5nmol/L on just wellbutrin alone.
