Doing the right thing! Happy to see that we could help you, keep us updated on how things go! And ofc, fingers crossed its nothing bad or major!

Thanks for bringing that to my attention, good info, but im doing ok as far as how steep my calorie deficit is , its nothing extreme according to this BMR calculator etc,,,, , what BMR formula would someone use as there are several? i also track my Active energy on my apple watch and im consistent since last year as far as averages go, ,

1. Harris-Benedict Equation

  • Men: BMR=66.5+(13.75×weight in kg)+(5.003×height in cm)−(6.75×age)
  • Women: BMR=655.1+(9.563×weight in kg)+(1.850×height in cm)−(4.676×age)

2. Mifflin- St. Jeor Equation

  • Men: BMR=(10×weight in kg)+(6.25×height in cm)−(5×age)+5
  • Women: BMR=(10×weight in kg)+(6.25×height in cm)−(5×age)−161

They should be quite close, but best would be a nutritional+activity diary where you perform your computations for your unique body.

My issue with these is that they take age into account based on empirical data collected from the average person. Taking gear makes you far away from the average person.

Please consider dropping all your herbals and nutraceuticals for a while, fixing your diet around micronutrients too, not only macros, and test again, these markers and polypharmacy don't go well together. I am not suggesting you go natty, but some substances (and i mean even things like magnesium) sometimes have unpredictable effects while offering no indispensable benefits

You should at least justify and elaborate on why, what, how. A new user who is not familiar with bloodwork will just panic and might be doing more wrong than good. Just give your advice more context

Not sure what you are talking about ? care to elaborate more

Ok, what I meant is that patients can react in different ways to all sorts of medicines. Some people can, and do, get liver damage from a single 500 mg paracetamol tablet.

These slight elevations in transaminases and kidney injury markers could be caused by something as apparently innocuous as Astragalus, berberine, or milk thistle. Heck, even magnesium supplementation can—and does—cause kidney strain in susceptible patients. What I’m recommending here is removing all non-essential confounding factors and seeing if that leads to improvement. Then, you’ll need to reevaluate what you want to reintroduce, and whether it’s even worth it or effective at all.

Is good advice

i have often thought that the handful of "organ supporters" could be causing kidney strain, BUT, I will await for my kidney/liver ultrasounds to determine whether or not theres more to my elevated markers,, Thanks for the advise,,

Update,, i will be taking a uACR urine test and a follow up cystatin c blood tests this Friday morning , I also have that kidney&liver ultrasounds scheduled finally for May 8 th , so things are moving along,,
Great, keep us updated, I am keeping a tab on your situation

UPDATE/// after kidney ultrasound, findings are STAGE 3 kidney disease, and have been referred to a kidney specialist,, Kinda disappointed to find this out, but i think through lifestyle changes and medication maybe, ill be able to slow the decline of the kidney's,, Damnit,, From my dr explaining that the specialist will review my medication/supplements and determine if any are a contributing factor, ,

Sorry to hear that. I’m curious what they think might have contributed. What was your eGFR reading?

i will know more once i see the kidney specialist, , i think the years i was abusing recreational drugs and being severely dehydrated may have had something to do with it, ,

52 puts you in Stage 3a which is a good distance away from Stage 4 (15-29). I just checked my labs for DEC, JAN, FEB and May. My eGFR was 73, 67, 70 and 60. 60 is borderline. I better keep an eye on that.
