Quitting Nicotine.

Going back over 20 years it was smoking that was my problem not nicotine. I used patches of various strengths over 3 months and never smoked again after that but I had no issues stopping the patches so I guess nicotine wasn't my addiction. Your issue sounds complicated. You will need to find something to replace your nicotine craving.

I have struggled repeatedly over 25 years to quit, used to smoke cigarettes like a chimney and now am on the lowest nicotine I can vape but am still struggling as I can get away with vaping way more than I ever smoked. I'm either planning on switching to zero nic or cold turkey in a couple of weeks but haven't decided which is less likely to end up in me being an utter douche for a few weeks.

Is Chantix (varencycline) no longer available? I quit twice using it and it was great for curbing the nicotine cravings. The associations were harder to deal with, especially when I had to drive somewhere, but I managed.

It's true - the second quit is way harder than the first, and I was kind of an average smoker, about a pack a day. I received some unexpected "help" in the form of a hospital stay for a case of cellulitis in an arm. Once I was sprung the cravings were gone, though I stayed on the Chantix for about 6 more weeks.

It's been 4 years since I last quit. Sometimes I really, really would like a cigarette, but it's nice knowing that if I catch a cold or other respiratory funk it's probably not going to become bronchitis that lasts...and lasts...forfuckingever.

Champix is still available here but having tried it previously, the side effects were too much in my case. There is a new drug that's just been approved here that will be potentially available at the end of January that is supposed to be more effective than Champix for stopping cravings, Cytisine, but I don't want to wait that long if I can help it. It could be a good new avenue though which is positive.

Exactly this, only gotta make it through a long weekend, then it's all mind over matter.
This. It’s a shitty addiction and I’m tryina quit too but I already stopped countless times in the past n it’s mostly mind over matter, the actual wd where you are all angry n shit is only 3 days but yeah u finna have a good amount of time where you really crave it but if you’re fine with the gun you’re already better off than most, I always found it easier to stop CT than use gum cos it’s the actual action of smoking or dipping etc… that you miss the most and that will have you go back to square one sum random ass day after you’ve quit n you end up bumming a cig off some hot chick at a party n you think fk it I’m wasted n she’s fw me so what’s gonna happen, then u wake up n u fked sum random ass skank n smoked a whole pack in an hour so u say fk it n buy yourself a pack otw home since you’re bored waiting for the bus/ride whatever the actual physical dependency is very overrated n is easy to kick compared to most things but the mental one is worse to kick than really good coke (well shit they go hand in hand too so I’d say both aren’t a joke). Still though quitting itself is a lot easier than you think, staying off em is a whole other story. But since I moved to the states it’s a lot easier back home everyone smokes n it was always hard af to keep off em here at least you have way less people that smoke plus there are more options (in Italy we ain’t got dip or anything apart from gum n vapes n vaping is just as bad but tastes like candy)

Imo if I was y’all I wouldn’t even bother trying that kinda shit those meds are fkin evil n have some nasty ass side effects, at that point just keep chewing the gum it’s less bad for you (plus nicotine is a nootropic of sorts but that’s a whole other subject).

I do think everyone should try putting on a patch right before bed tho, it will give you the craziest action movie style dreams like some commando predator style shit where u jump out of planes n do crazy stunts idk I’m pretty sure it’s due to the very light stim effect it has but that’s always been a trippy thing many don’t know about.

Nicotine is an extremely underrated supplement for the mind, body and hormones. Do a ton of research on it and you'll see

The only place I don't have a Swedish snus pouch in my mouth is the gym.

Fk yeah I love me some snus, that’s one of the only things that helped me quit smoking as many cigs as I used to n it’s not as bad as dip (plus you can gut it which you can’t with dip, well you can n many friends of mine do but I think it’s fucked n they are insane ahah)

I've been doing swedish snus for about 15 years. Dipped before that for about 5 years. No gum issues whatsoever. I order it from Sweden in bulk (shipping is costly).

Seems like a lifetime ago I used Chantix to quit smoking. Horrible side effects but they made quitting easy as fuck.
