Protein Bars

I'll second the pure protein, good macros and the chocolate coconut is very good. Also the Think bars, low GI, 20 grams of protein and under 200 calories.

Second the pure protein ones. The choc deluxe and choc coconut are so good. They're 20g protein and under 200 cals like quest bars or the other fiber type bars but less than half the price.

I like thinkthin too but I think its soy protein? Can't remember. And the ones I used to eat were 250 or 240 cals for 20g protein but that was a while ago so maybe its changed.

Anyone try John meadows real food bar? Supposed to be the best of the best based on taste and nutritional value

I use to eat protein bars but i always felt they were a waste of money so i stop
This to me is the best choice now
1183c184_oldcountrystylemuesli_f_hr.jpg i use 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup poor it in to already shaken protein shake any flavor any brand. The liquids soften the oats or you can blend it.
I use 16 oz almond milk with 2 scoops of powder
If i blend it i use 1 scoop of powder
6oz egg whites
12oz almond milk
Gotta keep it cold if its packed for the day

Quest, with cookies and cream being my favorite, or muscle pharm has a cinnamon twist that's really good, different than all the chocolate ones, and had halfway decent macros.

I rarely eat bars, anymore, but they're an ok, go-to, if I need something quick..

Love me a chocolate chip cookie dough quest bar, washed down with a mix of chocolate whey and almond milk even better. Quest apple pie not very good. Was not a fan of the taste or texture of birthday cake flavored combat bars.

Will be trying cookies and cream flavor after reading through this.

I get Pure Protein bars as well. Mainly because they're cheapest I can find ;) and the macros look decent compared to more expensive bars

Quest sold out.....and the part that pissed off the fitness industry and former loyal customers was their douchebag President Tom Bilyeu tried to sell the reason they switched the formula on their bars was because it was healthier for you.
He cited studies on the new fiber source they switched to and claimed the new source of fiber was lower glycemic.....the new fiber source is Soluble Corn Fiber and the studies he cited were later proven to have been funded by the maker of the corn fiber additive they were "studying".
The truth was, the formula on the bars that they used to make (the good bar) didn't scale well, the bars were difficult to manufacturer in bulk and the shelf-life was less than desirable.
That wasn't a major concern for them until they went global and also landed deals with 7-11, other convenience stores and major grocery stores.
To increase the shelf life and production volume they changed the formula on the bars, they made it lighter and greasier so that they could fully automate production and scale to meet new demands.
They changed the fiber source (which by volume is 33% of the bar's weight) from IMO fiber to corn fiber.....yeah Corn Fiber.
They added on average about 4 grams of Palm Oil to the formula (9 total grams of fat now in each bar) to make the formula more pliable in production and keep them softer for longer (and greasier) on store shelves.
The added calcium carbonate for these same reasons as well.
They cheapened their protein blend and now use more Milk Protein when the blend used to be predominantly Whey protein (you can see this by the order in which the protein types are listed in the formula....more = listed first).
The Corn Fiber gives me (and a lot of other former customers) horrendous farts and stomach issues.....so even if I didn't care about the lies they told....I still can't eat them.

To me quest bars feel like I'm trying to chew through steel. MetRx has been around forever and I trust them. Quest reminds me of the old steel bars(for those old enough to remember).

Hey brother, how's life treating you?

Do you or anyone else remember the first protein bars Met-Rx ever put out?

They were these big, gray blocks of disgustingness that were just god awful.
They've definitely come a long way!

Yeah they were pretty nasty. I do like the newer MetRx meal replacement bars. Taste is pretty good. I'm doing good bro. Day by day. Hope all is well.

The new ones are a staple for me.
If you haven't tried the peanut butter cup, it's definitely worth the couple bucks.

Glad to hear it brother!
Life is good, i can't complain. :)
