Silicon has one benefit over butyl that I can see, and that's with its higher resistance to extreme temperatures. I'm going to freeze about 100 vials of various compounds, and I think the thermal resistance of silicon will actually be beneficial in helping keep a good seal with the vials in those conditions. I'll also be freezing some Flurotec coated and PTFE coated butyl rubber, so I'll let you know in about 5 to 10 years how it all goes

I was pretty surprised myself to see how many experienced and reputable sources don't really know about how brutal benzyl benzoate is on stoppers, and silicon stoppers in particular. Many are using silicon stoppers, and another fills his vials until they touch the butyl stopper no matter how you store them. As more people shift mindsets from keeping a small amount of stuff on hand to long term storage and hoarding, people will become more cognizant of things like this, and more demanding of sources to supply vials that are ready to last as long as possible.

Apologies you are right I did. Well from years of experience I can truly tell you butyl rubber has broken by far more than silicone ever has. I have an example of Trestolone that’s been in my shelf for mmmmm 6yrs. I will show you the stopper is not broken down. Pls giv me momentYou posted in wrong thread. Fyi.

Dude come on it's the basic, if you have known me you should know I don't go at ppl just because. Silicone is not good for the BB and BA that's the big issue here.
Now for a short term use yeah it can probably be ok but do you know for how long your clients will store the vials? Do you know the vials will be stored upright the whole time (and even then it still leaks).
Butyl rub is superior to silicone even without a PTFE coating, with a PTFE coating it's like confronting a Ferrari (flurotec stoppers) to a fucking fiat 500 (silicone stoppers).
Without the PTFE it's still BMW vs broken FIAT500.
I like your setup, it's basic but not bad, you do know tho that air moving in your room is not good while you do critical things and you need a flow hood even so you "sealed" the room because your sealing is well... You know how it is
Grab a flow hood from china, a good one it's 700$ and get a good scale and please test your raws, because your gear is a little bit off and that means you don't have precise purity % or you don't have a good scale.
Btw get an autoclave, because how you gonna sterilize those caps and stoppers? Not in a oven for sure.
Your setup is half ok, the other half is kinda bad, not like bad don't buy the gear of this dude but this is wouldn't be the gear I would like to sell on an open forum kinda things.

You are mistaking something you can see with something you can't see.
Leeching of silicone stopper chemicals into the oil can be happening without the stopper degrading visually.
I mean dude it's science, are we arguing over science?
If you like silicone buy butyl PTFE coated / silicone stoppers, easy to source. One side is butyl PTFE coated and the other side is silicone. I have plenty myself.
