Net Carbs a Scam?

I recently decided to switch my Mission Wraps to Whole Wheat version, "Carb balance." The difference between them is 90 calories; the whole wheat version has 25g of fiber in them, which I need to add more fiber to my diet. Their argument is although the total carbs are 31g, 25 of fiber is negated.

The question is, is this net carb thing a scam, meaning, should we be counting the fiber the same as regular carbs, which would make this 110 calorie wrap, basically no different than the regular version?

I used to think net carbs was a scam, but I can get into ketosis easily when using foods with those carbs that don't affect blood sugar like the other ones. In other words, I think they are right when they minus those carbs out of the equation.

Some say they should still be counted, but instead of being 4 calories, they are like 2-3 calories.

Yes, I've heard that. If you're doing the induction phase, you can just worry about carb count and not total calories...so it makes it a little easier. If I go below 20g a day, I will be in Ketosis by day 7.

I'm not doing keto, was just curious since I do IIFYM.

I also never believed that whole grain carbs are better than regular carbs. But my body took care of itself. They are obviously much better for me.

well yesterday night I had one of these wraps, that has 25g of fiber, plus a giant salad, so hopefully today I shit normally lol.

Actually it's better than that. Fiber doesn't digest, except for some bacteria that feed on it in the intestines and produce some FFA that go to the liver and reduce glucose/insulin production and promote fatty acid metabolism.

I like fiber from a vegetable, how it works on my digestive tract. I have a rule, eat meat eat vegetables, eat a lot of meat - eat even more vegetables.
