Navy challenges Kerry's medals.

Neither Bush, who served in the Texas Air national Guard, nor Cheney went to Vietnam. The vice president obtained five deferments and has since said he had other priorities at the time.

Why is it Dems never bring up that Kerry had four deferments and only "volunteered" after being turned down for a fifth. By volunteering he was allowed to choose duty. At the time he chose, swiftboats were non-combat only.

Why do conservativer just not say that GB should have just served his time in nam like the rest.

I hate to break it to ya'll, but if I was in a position to make sure my son did NOT see combat, I'd do everything in my power to do so.

If that makes me a bad guy, then so be it. But I"d rather have my son than a flag from his coffin!!!

And Yes, Kerry went to Vietnam and what he did when he came back gave the Vietcong exactly what they were looking for!! They used Kerry's and Fondas speeches as propaganda to justify their imprisonment and abuse of American POW's LOOONNNNGGGG after Kerry left.

Many did not serve in Nam as you put it. He served in the Reserves. If his unit was called up, he would have had to "serve in Nam."

Try to look at facts when debating. When you don't you only look ignorant. By doing so your not helping your cause.

Being hypocritical is not a debating technique.

...."Where's Waldo" books typically don't have a political section.

So by that reasoning Kerry is not a bad guy for wanting to get out AFTER he has already seen action.

If you believe that he got out after he saw action so that he could help the war at home, then I got some swamp land in Kansas I'd like to sell ya'.

Kerry left to come home and pursue a career in politics. He video taped himself in Nam to use a political propaganda during his own campaign, he got 5 medals in 3 months of action, and all of his purple hearts are questionable.

Im not a huge Clinton fan, but I dont wish him death (unlike my opinion of his wife. :D).

BTW, I think your comment on Atkins/SB is so far off base.

How is that much different than Kerrys deferment being rejected, which is why he chose to enlist and have a better chance of choosing his placement? So Bush just had better connections, big deal.

Wind, at least Quasi comes across as intelligent, whereas buck comes across as a 12 year old at a computer who just watched "The Chris Matthews Show" where he was, in fact, the only person watching the show.

Bob. Usually you're quite astute but do you really wish HC's death? You're better than that.

The atkins diet crack was a joke bob..

Win, i have never ever said i was a fan of Kerry's, only that i detest GWB. I have my reasons, as do you have yours for liking him..

Who wouldn't get out of a war if they could... I'm against killing anyone, can't even go hunting and shoot a dear. I can barely eat hamburger. Hell no I don't blame anyone for wanting to, and using any legal means possible to avoid bloodshed.

well Kerry isnt making it out to seem that way......he focuses directly on his Nam service and how proud of it he and the American people should be (which I am), but he doesnt make it seem like he wanted to get out ASAP. He should not have made the focus of his campagin about his Vietnam service.....if he hadnt, he may have had a shot at the White House. He fuckin blew it
