Milk, for or against?

I drink about a half gallon a day of skim or 2%. Makes hitting calorie and protein requirements much more manageable.
Sure fuckin does. Just had a shake with almond milk.... it was more drinkable but the calories aren't there so I'll have to add more weight gainer ,banana and peanut butter. Hmmm

@CAswole - look into fairlife milk also. It's pricier but it may agree with you more. It's a filtered milk. It was all I drank for awhile but I got sick of buying so much of it since it's only half gallon containers and paying more for it than a gallon of milk. They sell at Walmart.

I've tried the almond milk, I didn't like it as much, but I've only had the plain flavor. Calories and protein aren't there either. I think only like 2g protein and like 40 calories if I remember correctly.

Bananas and milk are some of my go to calories, I can always have a glass of milk and a banana with every meal. It adds up.

Absolutely and that's what I've always done no problem. Just trying to figure out why I've been shittin my pants for three weeks now lol

That documentary is actually extremely biased. It does more than present the facts. For all the health issues milk seems to be responsible for, it also has some health benefits. Yes benefits. The difference may happen to be in the dose.

When weighed against the health complications milk is responsible for, i would argue that the "benefits" are not worth the risk.

To quote:

Hypocrisy versus individual tolerance. I love it when I hear folks say that human adults weren’t meant to consume milk, much less the milk derived from a different animal species. Are you kidding me? So who gets to decide which parts of the cow we should consume? Let me get this straight–we can eat the cow’s muscles, but not the milk that laid the foundation for the growth of those same muscles? Huh? The logic is just too rock-solid for me. Folks who carry the torch against milk consumption typically will have some degree of allergy or digestive intolerance to it, and they take the liberty to project their personal problems onto the world around them. Many of these same “health-minded” people consume whey protein by the tubload –and this is not only a milk product, but an engineered refined milk product to boot. I suggest you raise a salute to cow’s teats the next time you flex your muscles, and let the rest of us enjoy our milk in peace.

The above quote may apply to some folks but i assure you it does not apply to me. I no longer consume any dairy products and do not use whey protein. I neither have allergies nor i am i lactose intolerant. What i am is, intolerant to health issues that can easily be avoided. No hypocrisy here.

But rather than debate the milk issue, im happy with my choice not to consume any dairy and feel terrific since making that choice.

Got Milk? ;)

I've done heavy milk diets in the past and got fat every time. So no milk for me. Whey protein on the other hand I consume a ton of.

I believe you that it doesn't apply to you but that's a decision you've made for yourself. The point of the quote was to let others make the decision for themselves as they see fit since many ppl have no issues with dairy as well as point out the hypocrisy of the part about arbitrarily deciding which parts of the cow to eat. I don't like eating liver and it messes with my stomach so I don't eat it but I won't tell others not to eat it if they enjoy it.

I WILL ENJOY MY GODDAM MILK

Drank milk all my life. Had acne along side. Stopped drinking milk, ice cream, any dairy. Now am acne free.

110% worth it for me.
This is another issue i forgot to bring up. I've read about high dairy consumption and acne. I am always struggling with acne so I'm curious with my experiment to see if it clears up at all.

Mostly correlational evidence linking dairy with acne but, anecdotally, plenty of people have noticed an improvement when they cut their dairy consumption.

This effect may be caused by the increase in IGF1 signalling, increase in mTOR activation, the high quality nature of dairy as a protein source, etc, etc.

Basically, everything that makes dairy a fantastic protein choice for muscle growth seems to make it a terrible choice for those prone to acne.

Out of curiosity, do you use a "face cleaner/ face wash" product? And do you experience an oily face?
