Milk and Fat Loss

I have heard mixed reviews on milk and fat loss. There has been research showing calcium plays a major role in fat loss. The best source of calium is dairy rich products. On the Glycemic Index, skim milk has a rating of 30.

What are your thoughts on this? Should I keep my consumption of milk to a minimum as fat loss is my goal at the momemnt?

Thanks for the help!

I would keep dairy intake very low and supplement with calcium. Its not the same as dairy calcium, but it still helps with fat loss.

THanks for the advice Bob.

What is the reason for keeping the dairy intake low?

What is a good calcium supplement that has good bioavailability?

Thanks once again!

eat your vegetttables.... :)

actually you can ge as much Ca+ from broccoli and other dark leafy greens....really dont need calcium. also, if you use a whey/casien protein powder you're geting ca+ from hat as well.

True, but you wont reach the levels used in the studies showing increased fat loss by just eating foods.

I dont eat alot of milk, maybe a litre a day but i do eat alot of low fat cottage cheese. it has never hindered fat loss etc. What is the reasoning dairy foods hinder fat loss and bloat you?

Thanks fellas for the advice. I will keep my milk consumption down to about 1 glass per day and add some cheddar cheese. If this does not help me reach my goal, I will try it without.

Thanks once again for all the tips!
