Deload week and I need it. Did light squats and sumo deadlift today. First time every pulling sumo. It is definitely easier on the back, but harder on my hips. I'm going to have to get used to it bc it was kinda awkward for me. But it wasn't bad.

Nice correction. Working on my deadlift form now. Getting some help from the guys.Squat day, worked up to 1x5 390. I'm finally pain free with my back now. Giving it a week off helped and I was squatting wrong. I was swinging my hips way to far back before I started to go down and it caused me to lean forward, have my back to Parell and I let my breath out. I squatted today the right way and everything feels great.
Yea having videos of myself helped a lot. It lets you go back and look over what your doing. Game changer lolNice correction. Working on my deadlift form now. Getting some help from the guys.
I was looking at a video of me deadlifting a few years ago and form was much better then than now. I'll get it fixed.
I'll be doing deads every day. On days it's not programmed it will be just more 135 really focusing on rearward pelvic tilt. I'll also drop the load this week by 20% this week, 10% next week and see how things are after. This was the advice that I'm taking from at @RodgerThat. I didn't pick this up on the video. But as I start the pull I'm a few inches forward, making the lift harder. Once I corrected this. That 455 will I'll be able to 10 reps. But I'll be recording everything from this point forward.Yea having videos of myself helped a lot. It lets you go back and look over what your doing. Game changer lol
Knowing the weakness is half the battle. I'm still trying to get sumo deadlifts down. It's awkward for me bc I've never pulled that way before but I want to switch for a couple months just to get a feel for themI'll be doing deads every day. I did feel better in my setup some. I noticed as soon as I locked and got my lats tight, with 135 the bar came off the ground with me attempting to pull it.
I have some weaknesses that I will be addressing from here on out. Lower back, and hamstrings. I'm really quad dominant.
I need to really give sumo a try. Being that I am older I just don't want to put to much strain on my hips. I might use sumo as accessory next training cycle.Knowing the weakness is half the battle. I pull sumo from blocks on squat day and even though I'm terrible at it it doesn't really bother my hips. I'm pretty tall so it just feels weird to me.I need to really give sumo a try. How did your hips feel when you pulled sumo?
I'm going to give it a try next training cycle. I have to get my conventional deadlift in order now. I'm falling forward a few inches or my scaps are traveling forward a few inches as I initiate that move.I pull sumo from blocks on squat day and even though I'm terrible at it it doesn't really bother my hips. Did you ever make it to the Donnie Thompson seminar? I told my wife about a few days before. So almost impossible to plan for a weekend vacay.I pull sumo from blocks on squat day and even though I'm terrible at it it doesn't really bother my hips. I'm pretty tall so it just feels weird to me.
It doesn't bother mine to bad. I feel it more in my hamstrings. It's easy on my back.I need to really give sumo a try. Being that I am older I just don't want to put to much strain on my hips. I might use sumo as accessory next training cycle.
