It was happening during a certification process for a national election for the highest office in the land. Congress was actually counting electoral votes, an official act required for the election result. This process was disrupted.

That alone makes it drastically different in ways you seem unable to appreciate but readily would if the folks doing it had been politically on the other side and the election had gone the other way.

What happened in the election of our president looked more like a farce and sheer deception. Everyone saw and understood everything, and in the end they were silent and inactive.
