Is the difference between 15% bf and 8 a matter of 12-15 lbs?

Im curious as I had 2 scans done one showed 12% the other 15% (weight 190) curious of getting to 175-178 would put me at around 8%

What kind of scans? Even something as accurate as a dexa can have skewed results from things like water/hydration levels and food.

If you’re talking about something you stand on and maybe hold the handles (or not), go ahead and stop doing that. Impedance measurements are laughable and I feel bad for people who pay for them.

When I was getting dexa scans I’d always make sure of a few things in hopes that they’d be a little more repeatable.

1. No excess gear in my system, just normal TRT levels
2. Same time, I’d always try and get first thing in the morning.
3. My morning meals are always consistent and I’d make sure that was the case day off.
4. No crazy bloat, not gonna go on a Taco Bell bender the day before.

Who knows if this helped, but I always thought it would.

InBody 570 did it fasted in the morning. Allegedly its as good as dexa.

I want to find a BodPod testing center

InBody 570

Googled this and laughed. Those *might* be REPEATABLE, but they’re not accurate.

If they are repeatable, then there’s nothing wrong with them for the sake of tracking.

This is also a TON of mental masturbation.
BF percentage means nothing. Whatcha gonna do when that fancy machine tells you you’re 6% but you don’t like the way you look? Or how about you see your self in the mirror and think, fuck, I’m shredded but the fancy machine tells you 15%?

Stuff like this is ONE of many cool and useful metrics for tracking progress, but at the end of the day it’s not important. It’s a number. One that doesn’t mean much.

How “accurate” is Dexa or Bodpod?

No idea on bod pod but a dexa can be pretty accurate from what I’ve read. I’m guessing it depends on set up, maintenance, training and calibration as well. I’ve had all mine done in a medical facility so hopefully those things were taken care of lol

Yes you would have to loose about 12lb.s of BF but not loose no muscle to hit those kind of numbers. May be harder then you think,
