If Democrats had their way....

What really needs to happen, is the government needs to get more effecient with their money, its pathetic how ineffectual government programs are~Sensational[/QUOTE]

after reading this statment are you sure your a Dem?

Is Gingrich part of the current admin.? Did I miss something? You say you oppose everything about this current admin.. Then here is what you are saying, I oppose family values, I oppose defending this country, I oppose freeing a brutalized people. Morals are something that society is built on Repubs. know it, and Dems. don't care. Conservatives are not perfect but at least they admit there mistakes and dont endorse them.

Democratic candidates

For those of you that are supporting a democrat, lets hear who and why you support them. And lets at least keep it to a person that has a legitimate chance of getting the nomination.

I have not said who I will vote for yet, I am currently researching the democratic candidates right now. I must say I am supremely happy Dean is pretty much out of the picture.

And as far as admitting mistakes, this administration is not doing that. I can understand mistakes by an administration, I really can. For instance, the WMD destruction and the war in Iraq did not go smoothly. I would like to see Bush backtrack and admit that he made a mistake, but it seems he has too much hubris.

And BTW, phreezer I love your quotes list! George W is famous for his senseless idioms...I have a few I will add after my next class~Sensational

Sens, was Bush's WMD mistakes HIS mistake or was he provided with inaccurate (at least so far) information by his intel agencies?

The WMD was his mistake by letting it be the focus of why saddam was ousted. He shouldve said this guy has tortured too many citizens(and countless other atrocities) and he may possibly be developing WMD's. Than people wouldnt be so centered on this irrelevant subject

Maybe they've already found them ( WMD ) and they're just waiting till the election gets closer? Who knows, but that would be a smart move for re-election. Remember americans have short memories.

The sad part is we gave his dictator over a years notice that we were coming, I think that's plenty of time to hide or get rid of them.

Just think if the DEA drove buy a drug dealers house with a megaphone yelling " we are going to raid you in one year " then they're surprised when they don't find any drugs....Idiots

Ummmm....yes u did miss something....there was a reference to contract with america....which was pushed by gingrich.

I do oppose
His top aides illegally exposed a CIA agent to coverup lies about Iraq
-- Lied to congress and used forged documents to get approval for war in Iraq
-- Convicted of drunk driving, and poesession of cocain and lied repeatedly to cover that up.
-- Lied under oath to stop a private lawsuit.
-- Covered up Saudi aid to 9/11 hijackers
-- Bush's Palestinian business partner got access to the first President Bush and U.S. National Security Adviser Scowcroft soon after buying part of Bush Jr.'s failed oil company. Since then he has visited Bush Jr. in the White House and been investigated for links to Islamic charities and companies funding al Qaeda and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
-- Made millions from losing businesses, bailed out by his dad's friends.
-- Steered tens of millions of Texas state tax dollars to his campaign contributors, now steering billions of US tax dollars to his cronies and contributors

You want to know the real reason I'm supporting the democrats this election?? Because they don't have a man named George W. Bush on their ticket...Nuff said

Im serious, who are you supporting and why? What issuesof theirs do you agree with?

Europe, and the rest of the world, for that matter, just likes to hate the US, period....until they need us to bail their asses out of something. ;)

I, for one, like the US very much and I'm hoping to move to your sweet, sweet country very soon :)

But I disagree with some basic political choices that mainly the Republicans have made since World War II. Reagan was an idiot IMO, and Bush repeats many of his mistakes.

On the other hand, the basic American philosophy is fine by me, and the Democrats have done much good for your country.

But Grizz, you're right about the whole "bailing us out" thingy ;)

And not just bailing out Europe, its everyone!

"and the Democrats have done much good for your country."

And have done much bad for our nation, too. As have the Republicans, good and bad.

I wish there was some way that the elected representatives could actually work together for the common good instead of being so partisan. Think of how things were for a few months post-Sept 11.

I couldn't agree more with you Bob.

My problem certainly isn't with the Republicans in general, but only with the way Bush runs (and Reagan ran) the country now.

We will never have real men in politics. Who in there right mind would want there lives drug thru the mug like that. I'm sure there are some VERY qualified people out there that will never run for this reason.

Oh and by the way, please tell me some of the good things the Dems. have done. I must have been asleep that day.

Well Bob, if you think about it:

Bush has just done the exact same thing - cutting the taxes without having the financial capacity to do so.
This is done in hope that the lower taxes will create a burst in the economy. Reagan did the same thing with very poor results, and this will happen to Bush too.

You owe about 500 mia $ to other countries, and you also have a giant deficit on your internal balance. (Sorry about the poor explanation, I'm used to talk about this stuff in danish, it's in the middle of the night over here and I'm very tired ;) )

When Regan cut taxes revenue tripled the problem was for him to get the much needed military spending ( since Carter gutted it ) he had to give in to the Dem. cong. and senate who couldn't keep there hands off the extra revenue.
