Hey guys,

Long story short I used to be a fatty almost 300lbs at 5'10", dropped down to 195 at my lowest ever, then got to a solid 205 at 15% probably, now two years and a relationship later I am at 235ish and low twenties bf. Never stopped lifting though!

Anyways my long journey of losing over 100 lbs I ate chicken breast 2x a day EVERY DAY. for over a year. what sucks is, now i have developed this INSANE gag reflex to chicken breast but I still want to incorporate it. Its like as soon as the taste and texture hits my mouth I just gag horribly. So what im looking for is some tips or recipes to make chicken breast more bearable or something to use as a consistent replacement.

I have tried: grilled chicken
baked seasoned chicken
pan cooked chicken with olive oil
with all varieties of reasonably healthy sauces, seasonings etc. I also brine the chicken which helps a little but is bad on the sodium content.

just looking for a new consistent and easy protein source I can consume for a few months and then move on.

Marinate. At least a day. Only way I can eat the shit anymore.

I really like marinating in mojo criollo for a day. I add extra garlic and cumin with it. Easy, pre fab stuff. I'll do ten lbs at a time and grill it all up at once.

Lean pork too. Nice and cheap right now.

I like doing orange soy and ginger as well. Teriyaki and garlic is good. Half teriyaki, half French dressing and lots of garlic (doesn't sound like much, but it's bomb, good for London broil also).

Dry rub with badia complete seasoning, good Cajun, or bbq rub. And again, marinate for at least a day.

Otherwise, I have to braise it and shred it.

Marinate for an hour atleast. Bake at 375 for 27min. the trick I think is to get just past the stage where it taste raw and kinda jeewy/undercooked so it stays as juicy as possible. Just do chicken for one of your meals. Than lean ground turkey and some fish at nigh. Healthy crock pot recipes are good too. Other than that i couldn't tell u. Taste buds change, some people just hate chicken. I personally can eat plain boiled chicken 7 days a week if I had to, I'm sort of fuked up in the head haha

If you really like Chinese food and don't mind the extra sodium and calories, this sauce is the shit:

I feel you man. I've said it a thousand times that if they made whole meals in pill form, I'd probably never eat. Eating enough calories is my biggest obstacle in BB.

had this problem for a while after my first year of proper dieting, by the end of my second year i had tried just about every sauce, herb and spice in the entire supermarket. switched to beef for about 6 months, got sick of it, switched to tuna loved it, but the mercury was too high.
i switched back to chicken after about 8 months off it, now i think im addicted to it, i eat it 6 times a day and even on my cheat days i end up getting chicken!
i think after a while your brain just stops associating food with a happy feeling, so it allows you to just eat whatever and not expect good taste. even if my rice is dried up, chicken is dry and bland, i can still eat it fine.
obviously its all psychological.

thanks for all the replies guys! I think I will try that broth, that sounds decent. Just worried about sodium intake. I'm cutting so I cant do the heavy sauces like the general tso's etc. Going to just start making 97% lean beef patties on the stove and eat those with a tiny bit of ketchup and use iceberg leaves as the bun. Seems to do the job.

If you can't eat chicken just don't eat it. Sub in more fish, beef, pork, turkey, eggs, stc until you can eat chicken again without issue
This has covered it all. Tuna out of the can is great it tastes good, it's super fast, and easy to make into a very nutritious meal
