My Colt Defender 45acp 1911
One sweet pistol. I carry this every day unless I'm not wearing loose enough clothes then I carry my 38 special S&W Gun Smoke, Wyatt Deep Cover, Performance Center edition. It's a sweet little revolver that is super concealable.

Check out the grip on the S&W it has its own clip for inside the pants carry and it works awesome.

What's wrong with Taurus [emoji4]
I love my Taurus 44mag. It's one bad boy.

Just for the record I wasn't pointing it at myself. [emoji51]
I was referring to the snub nose .38 that is on the cheap brand new. That fucking thing needs moon clips as part of the design to load the rounds properly. Or in the heat of conflict you'd need a pencil to poke em out the other side. Tisk tisk. Shitty design

I already carry a S&W .40 or 9mm now. The Glock 42 would just be a second gun for suit pants or coat. I do a considerable amount of public speaking and it can be difficult hiding larger guns UWB etc. the G42 I can just toss in my pocket. I agree with everyone under.40 cal is not a lot of stopping power. I'm also starting to think I just like buying guns!!

Anyone have an ankle holster they just love?

I'll always prefer a 9MM to a .380 but that's just personal preference. If I have to shoot someone I want to neutralize the threat as fast as possible. The thing about handguns is that they're notoriously bad at killing people. There have been people shot over and over again that still continue to be a threat. I've read stories of a guy being shot over 20 times and still managing to return fire. The 380 just doesn't carry much energy. If I'm going to carry a firearm that is extremely compact I want to do it with the most bang I can. I use 147gr Winchester PDX1 +P defender hollow points in 9MM. A very heavy and high pressure load for 9mm Luger. I would never trust my life to something smaller than 9mm and I hardly feel like a 9 is enough. If you can carry an A hammeless S&W in .357Mag that's probably your best option.
At the end of the day any weapon system is just a tool, put it in the right hands with experience. A well place round of any caliber can be lethal....different strokes for different folks for sure we can agree on that. I like to throw as much lead down range as I can with no recoil in regards to a micro.

But I think we are comparing apples to oranges anyway, I look at the Sig .380 or my derringers like boot guns. It's like underwear, except sometimes in my case it will be the only thing on :D! I will never be in a situation where I'm not open carrying a 1911 or have the Sig P250/Walther P99 cc. However, I would bet my life on my .380 if I had too. The .380 FMJ went through an old flak jacket like butter. Not surprising as it was never intended to stop small arms rounds, but it may be surprising to some to think about precautions of over-penetration in regards to what has long been fabled a mouse gun.

Thx TEK! Sure wish we were an open carry state! I love the 1911, but tough gun to conceal. Lol

Loving that colt bro very nice choice.

Like the concept of the .380 being a small round for carrying and I actually carried one for a little bit but I couldn't hit shit with it and accuracy has never been a problem with me. Anyone else struggling with accuracy past point blank range lol

This has always been my concern also. What type of .380 was it? I shot this Glock 42 (150 rnds from 20-30ft and it was as accurate as my 9mm.

It was a ruger lcp .380. I don't know if it was just the way it fit my hand or what but anything past 25 ft I was all over the place. Don't get me wrong still hitting center mass shots but just not what I consider acceptable to feel confortable carrying every day.

it's def an issue for me with shooting tight groups with a micro, I have huge hands and the lightweight just feels all loose. That figures in to my argument about the .380 over the 9mm in that micro market, less recoil for the light frame leads to better accuracy for me. I really struggle with the accuracy on my less dominant hand, I place them a lot better with my kimber solo 9mm. It's stainless and although it's specs say its comparable in weight to the sig p238 .380...by the time you get a clip in it it "feels" like night and day to me. A lot of it is the way it's balanced though, the Solo with the extended mag makes a lil room for a larger hand as well.

The best weapon system is the one you are comfortable with and will carry...so much of this shit is trial and error.

EDIT: here's a pick of the solo I pulled from online to illustrate

Agree with you on the trial and error 10 people will all have 10 different choices on what to carry. guess all that matters is being comfortable and confident with it, cause it will take tons of both if for some reason it ever has to leave its holster.

Did you look at the SIG 938? Just a little bigger than your 23820130216_185226.jpg

Here is my Wife's little Ruger 38auto that she carries.

I like a Ruger.
I bought a P95 full size 9mm with a ruger grips and 5 clips for $150 years ago. Thing was blocky, fit a large hand well, and rugged as hell. I mean that damn thing was rock solid reliable, not the most accurate but more than efficient. Ambidextrous controls and could spit any kinda ammo you could find every time. That's a damn solid weapon system and at the price point is great.

Bought my brother a Ruger mini 14 with the wood and he loves it. Matter of fact that may be on my wishlist soon now that I'm thinkin bout it :D

i bought the 238 w/ the crimson trace grip for my Ma's purse. Never would carry it.
Too nice to go to waste...

EDIT: I just reread my above post I see what you are saying, it's sounds like I'm contradicting myself.

-I shoot more accurate with the .380 in my natural stance/grip contributing tighter groups to less recoil over the 9mm.

-I shoot more accurate with my Kimber 9mm in my less dominant hand because the weight + extended clip allows for more comfortable "feel".
