Got busted with pins...

I got caught with pins on me. The ticket I was given lists it as a misdemeanor offense...am I going to need to get a lawyer for this?

Cops searched my vehicle. :( Had issues with my girlfriend (NEVER hit her or threatened her or anything) but she called the cops on me regardless. I was leaving and driving down the road and they pulled me over.

Had me cuffed and started going through my vehicle. I said "I never gave you permission to search my vehicle--what reasonable cause do you have?" They hit me in the back of the head and told me to shut up. Luckily they didn't find my test.

You need a lawyer if you can get one. If they hit you and you did not resist then they're in the wrong. Big Karch can offer more here, but I would definitely start looking for one.

California...and I don't have any real visible injures. Just a bump on the back of my head. There were about six officers, so I think it would be a losing battle unfortunately.

California??? The cops hit you? I'd sue the shit outta them. You've got a great case. You'll definitely win. Remember that Rodney King guy?? The courts really supported that guy...

Nevermind.

I saw this on anabolic minds. If I bought these online from a location in which it is legal to own them, wouldn't that then mean that it's legal for me to possess them?

Okay, here's some good news for those who use pins to ingest their supps. I just had a training update where I was informed that California has passed a law where pins will be legal to sell/possess in authorized counties. Basically, the law allows each county in California to allow the sales of pins from pharmacies. Once a county allows this, then each city in the county must abide by it. The law allows a person to purchase up to 10 pins at a time, from a particular location. The law does not say a person can not go from place-to-place, purchasing 10 pins at each one. No prescription would be required to make the purchases.

Also, I brought up one question about a person possessing pins in a county which has not inacted the law, but purchased them from a location where it is legal. I was informed that if it was found that it is legal in the location where it was purchased, then it would be legal for the person to possess.

The law is supposed to take effect in 2005. The book where this was all cited from is not available to me at this time. When it is, I will cite the decision.

I thought pins were legal and its not a weapon

the same type of rules you apply in ohio that you can actually buy pins w/out a prescription at a pharmacy, but i dunno if they put a limit on the amount of pins, since i just heard about this a few weeks ago

Ended up getting 3 years probation, $750 fine, 10 Narcotics Anonymous meetings and 1 year restricted license (was going to be suspended). So much for the justice system.

re

shit bro..who in the hell was your attorney....you should have updated me on your progress and court process..I have to say, I have rarely seen anyone get what you did just for pins alone.....

I had a public defendant who lectured me about changing my ways while I was still young. I looked at her and told her that she's there to defend me not pass moral judgement on me. Anywho, she told me that California recently passed new regulations on possession of hypodermic needles and that's the new mandatory punishment. I had a perfectly clean record too. :(

re

awww..sorry bro..bullshit...I hate public defenders....they get little pay, a big case load and I swear its like reno or vegas in the court room..bargaining, dealing and gambling on each case..

possession of pins, B&P 4140 is a small insignificant misdemeanor...you can tell your public pretender that.....but now that you are on probation..keep your shit clean...you are open to search and seizure by any law enforcement at anytime.......

California, the state with the damn needle exchange programs in San Francisco?

Fucked up state.

You got a lousy deal for sure.

First Offense. You Should Have Got Some Sort Of Condition Discharge. You Stay Out Of Trouble Ofr 6-12 Months, Charges Dismissed. No Record. Although, They Are Only A Disorderly Persons Offense.

no, thats why they tell you to BE SURE YOU KNOW THE LAWS OF YOUR STATE BEFORE ORDERING. if its illegal in CA, you're not supposed to order it from anywhere. some sites will still take your order because they want to make money.

CA sucks. i got in worse trouble than you, i actually went to jail and did 126 DAYS of caltrans (not for just needles though, gear mainly). although they added the 80 needles to my charges, but it was only $1000 bail for the needles if i remember. so dont even sweat it bro.

I'm just chalkin' it up to a lesson learned, but I asked this because that article was saying in some parts of CA it is legal to possess them. So I'm a bit confused.
