Just curious if anyone here has ever seen a ghost. I think I did when I was about 7 or 8. I grew up in a building that was made in the 1800's. One morning while I was still in bed, I saw a figure of a mailman walking down the hall into my bathroom. He was glowing bluish white and looked more like he was floating than walkin. And yes, the door did shut. I was scared s'less. I stayed in bed for what seemed like hours to see if he'd come out. Nope. So I woke up my sister, and we both walked over to the bathroom. The door was shut so we knocked. No answer. So we slowly opened the door (yeah, it was unlocked). Sure enough no one was there. And no, he didn't take a ghost dump.

I know several people who claim they have seen ghosts. Sorry but I don't believe it for one second. I mean when I was a kid I was pretty stupid in that I would see a Halloween and would be terrified for weeks and weeks whenever it got dark that Michael Meyers would come out of the darkness and kill me. I was just a stupid kid. But no I do not believe in ghosts for one second.

The bible talks of spirits and Ghosts.

In the Old testament,(1 Samuel 16:14) Saul had fallenl out of favor with God, So King Saul asked the Witch of Endor to invoke the shade of Samuel to aid him...The witch then did summon Samuel from his Grave, and Samuel Asked Saul "Why have you woken me from my slumber"? and Saul Responded "because the spirit of the Lord has departed from me", and Samuel responded "Then there is nothing I can do for you" and he departed.

So this implys that if people were once able to summon the dead, they probably still are....

I'm a bible reader myself, The bible is also full of demonic possesion and evil spirits. I can see why some people wouldn't belive as I think everyone needsto experience something supernatural before believing in the supernatural.

For the believer no explaination is needed, for the non believer non is adequate.

That pis was pretty creepy. I wondewr if someone could clean it up on a pc and then zoom in to get a better look?

but if you read the whole story...she was shocked she actually conjured something..meaning she was probably a fake..but Paul did rebuke a demon out of a physic girl..because she kept taunting him.

Not trying to start a fight here, but did you just use the bible as proof of ghosts? Come on now, Phreezemeister, certainly you can come up with something at least mildly authoritative.

Yea, I'm a bible reader and believer but I do agree with you. Using the bible would only be proof enough if you believed in the bible 100%. In other words, I dont think it would hold in court but I'm not sure thats what phreezer was trying to do. I think he just wanted to point to an interesting fact.

I suppose, though it seemed as though there was supposed to be some credence behind it.

It's like bodybuilding and this board. If someone were to argue training with Phreezer, he might cite some scientific crap by one of those funny named Russian guys. Though one would like to put credence into Arnold's book, in the light of the scientific studies, there is none. And, to top it off, Arnold at least is semi-believable because he looked the way he did.

I just find it odd that a guy would spend 98% of his life in the world of facts and data only to suspend all of that for a hunch.

BTW I think that was just the innkeeper. The english can get to looking a bit peekid you know... Its the gin

I felt that the bible story was simply an interesting note.

Did it come across that I was trying to argue the exsistance of spirtis and Ghosts?

I'm not a crack pot Grizz, I don't run around looking for evidence of spooks, Crop Circles, UFO's or who was behind the JFK assasination.

I'm simply a Christian who reads his bible, and found a verse that was interesting, and I thought a few others might as well. I didn't realize that this thread was actually going to be an intellectual debate on the exsistance of the Boogie Man.

If so maybe I could find some obscure Russian parapsychologist to reference...

When I started this thread, I didn't think it would wind up where it has. That's not a bad thing, just an interesting thing. As a Christian myself, I believe what the bible has to say, and everyday that I live, I see the truth of the bible showing through in everyday life. With that being said, I'm not 100% sure if what I originally saw (the mailman ghost) was real. So are ghosts real? My experience makes me think so, and the picture in the start of this thread is really freaky. Peace.

Damn, I must be a crackpot, then. Not that I look for the evidence, but you couldn't convince me that there isn't alien life. It's just too improbable that there isn't. Yet, still, I think it's a hell of a lot more logical to to accept the existence of alien life forms than it is to accept ghosts.

I believe that it is foolish and vain to think that we are the only life in the universe....and real proof that intelligent life does exsist outside of our galaxy is that they haven't tried to contact us yet.
