Getting off of Test...what are my options?

Hi Guys:

As some of you saw in a previous post of mine, I talked about sometimes experiencing problems with dizziness and disorientation after injecting Test. I also stated that I take a mood stabilizer (lithium).

The problems that I experience aren't associated with Testosterone directly. However, they are problems that are often associated with lithium toxicity. I am in the process of getting an appointment with my p-doc to get another lithium level done. I've had them done before on TRT and they've been ok, but it is not super uncommon for someone on lithium to show symptoms of toxicity even though their blood levels are normal.

If I am told to drop the Test, what are my options? I will not drop the Lithium. It saved my life 5 years ago and I have no intention of seeing if I can do without it. I may pursue HCG mono-therapy because HCG has shown a lot of promise.

If it comes down to it, should I stop the Test, up the HCG, and then gradually drop the HCG down to its current level (500 iu/week)? How about dropping the Test and substituting Clomid in its place for 8 weeks?

Input appreciated. :)

Thanks,
Sonny

I see no reason to discontinue the testosterone, but seek the advice of your physician. I also see no reason why subsituting other meds would be preferable.

Perhaps I can talk my Endo into switching me back to Androgel. I did not have this dizziness/disoriented problem while I was on it. Testosterone when properly administered has mood stabilizing effects of its own. That has been greatly demonstrated over the past few months after switching from 400mg/e3w to 100mg/week. 400mg/e3w put me on a rollercoaster ride that had me ready to quit TRT until someone pointed me in your direction!

I am a big fan of your work and I still have faith in TRT, but the reality is that I am on 4 very powerful meds (Lithium, Klonopin, Test Cyp, and HCG) and I am fairly certain that my p-doc will ask me to simplify if I want to be able to continue working with him. Last year he observed that upping my Lithium by 50% did not control the instability brought on by my initial Test protocol...thereby negating his work.

Thank you for your feedback. As always, it is much appreciated.

Sonny
