But high enemployment does not sound like a growing economy. As wages then are not going up. Supply and demand ya know. And high interest rates where people can not afford to buy there own home does not make for a good economy for the vast majority of the people. So rising interest rates high unemployment make for a terrible economy!

Reagan had to clean up Carter's mess and he did a good job of it. He had to either attack the problem of inflation or address unemployment. He went after inflation and as soon as that was under control, he then focuses on unemployment.
