I attached a vid I threw up posing with another canadian bodybuilder. Just wanted to see if anyone had feed back / crituqes (feel free to tear me apart, i dont mind) it's a work in progress... prolly wont compete this year, maybe i will in October tho.
My current stats are 5'11 242lbs (in the vid) and also, im the white guy in the vid
(the vid has me chatting with the other guy, hearing his story and stuff in between poses, you can skip those parts if you feel like it, just watch the posign or whatever)
thx guys

@canadabber good work man. From the video you seem like a positive kind of dude. I am in no position to critique your posing or physique, but just wanted to give you some encouragement.

Posings kinda my thing. Don’t take these as negative; I love this part of bodybuilding and hope I can help.

Get your chest up and front shoulder back in your side chest.

IMO there are much more pleasing ways to hit an assymetric front double, give some of the more popular ones a shot.

In your rear poses don’t bring your rear foot so far back and don’t point it so hard. There should be serious weight on it as you need to lean back towards the level of the judges and you should be “scooping” that knee under to make your hams pop. Rear poses with a foot back look best when the hips are square to the audience and level from left to right.

Most muscular is very difficult to make fit your own physique (I spent hours tweaking mine), so keep working it to find what’s best.

Overall, make your movement to a pose once and keep it tight. Try not to bounce, rotate or turn back and forth too much, or adjust. Figure out how to get right to where you need to be after the transition and hold it.

As far as your physique goes my comments would be:
- focus on leg development to match your upper
- make lat heavy back movements a priority

You look fairy tall, just need to take the time to make there be more of you to fill out your frame.

Thx man appreciate the feedback a ton! (didnt consider any of it negative, i thought it was all very constructive and helpful!)

All solid comments and feedback and i'll def take it in an work on it (had already been trying different styles of front double, and also had been changing foot positioning in the back double, and do agree the i was too far back for sure) most muscular i hate the crab, and def go between hands on hip and hands clasped (and it changes as my physique changes)

great point about moving too much, i was watchign myself thining same thing hitting and locking is much more preferrable, and i know this but for some reason i havent been doing it well... will have to def be more aware of that.

Physique critique is what i was thinking as well (legs are def undersized) part due to a quad tendon tear 6 months ago (partial tear) but have rehabbed a bit and trying to grow them again.

I guess im kinda tall, for bbing, about 6'0 so I def need more size to be competitive at a national level (which i know i'm not right now) gunna work on legs and back for sure see where i'm at in a bit and if i'll try a show end of year... but prolly this will just be one more year of off season and trying to do a show next year (mainly for reasons you mentioned weak legs, and back, and just not big enough for my height to be that competitive)

thx again man appreciate it

6’ holy shit. Way taller than I expected.

A lot of people never make it to a high level of competition because they refuse to take time off to grow. Do a show every other year, and keep growing and growing and step on a national stage ready.

agreed i def need to grow and bring up lagging body parts as a priority before stepping on stage again, however long that takes it takes!
