Excess Protein

Protein timing is next to worthless when compared to your total daily protein intake. You could have the most optimal timing, which has yet to be proven to really exist, but if you're eating 50g of protein total a day what do you think is going to happen?

Yes leucine is important bury your focus should be on protein as a whole not the amino acid makeup of your protein since if you eat a wide variety of protein sources you'll get all the aminos you need.

Well what I am getting out of my research is that timing of protein intake(approx 20-80 g or more;in different studies) is more important than the amount of protein. Looking at my colleges library database. Also Leucine is important when figuring out these timed intakes of protein. Leucine I guess is an amino in protein helping with muscle healing(This is my own opinion/info). Leucine is more potent in certain foods. Eggs, chicken, yogurt and others. I think you want 3 g pre and post workout. There is a conversion online from what food has how many g on it. This is all common sense accept I didn't know the leucine part. Daym I am looking for this golden answer. I guess it's a combo of one's daily habits/nutritional intake. But I will keep looking it doesn't hurt. @Dr JIM and @Docd187123 Is this leucine part right? Do you know? Or anyone else?

Don't get caught up in the minutae and miss the forest for the trees. In order of importance: total calories met everyday, the macronutrient split of those calories met everyday, eat a lot of whole and minimally processes foods to meet micronutrient needs and fill in he gals with other foods you really enjoy, and most other things will make negligible differences.

Ya jim I think your right about a majority. I hope you didn't take exception to my rant. I think you got my gist tho. I think anyone with serious goals in mind have to consider taking in mass amounts of protein to be the cornerstone of their BB efforts. Without that, the foundation of recovery, they may as well be spinning their wheels

You're GTG IMO mate.

Daym!!! ok I will. I mean it did say it did matter all over. Said insulin, protein synthesis and other body function were maximized. I will look him up though. Fuck it I am just going to eat food, all day before and after lifting. Moderate of all categories/macros. Maybe will try my own little study using other methods with Leucine or somethine, down the road. I mean I take BCAA's and Creatine now anyway.
A lot of these studies were funded by supplement companies to sell shit. The one hour "anabolic window" (that I abided by for years) is bullshit. It's been proven that nutrient timing doesn't matter much. Like doc said your primary concern should be daily, even weekly intake.

I listened to a video Jay Cuttler put out a few years ago, and he said he's never went over 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight. Even when we he weighed 300 lbs he at 300 g of protein. I weigh 230 lbs and I eat around 250 g of protein. Much higher than that and I get bad digestion issues.

Now you have your answer :)

I respect Jay. I've always enjoyed watching all the videos he put out. Dude trains insane and eats like an animal. He won't sit there and tell you what drugs he took and how much, but he basically states that Damn near everyone on the professional level are all using basically the same shit.

Btw who says that protein from food are the same as protein from powder or that powder is even better, it's a liar.

They are the same on a nutritional level, I mean 30gr of protein are 30 gr of protein, sure. what about all the shits are in the powder?
You could argue, even in chicken there are shits, they are pumped with antibiotics etc. I agree BUT if you buy high quality meat, that grass fed and certified to not be pumped with antibiotics/steroids or whatever... I believe a breast of chicken, or a steak or whatever is NATURAL to be much more healthy then fucking protein powder.

Since I have eliminated it from my diet, I feel much better, less gas and can eat more healthy stuff as well :)

They have their use, for example I take ONE shake a day (breakfast) made of oats and eggs protein, just because I'm always in a hurry during breakfast and I don't like to eat any solid protein that early in the morning.

But all those pre-post wo gimmicks make me laugh a bit. fucking eat nice food, don't drink all those disgusting and full of aspartame and colorants powders.

About the whole protein thing... I don't know what's true, what I know is: I already eat around 700-800gr of meat (mostly chicken) every day, increasing that... feels wrong to me... can't be healthy eating 1kg or more of meat a day, I could be dead wrong.. it's just my mind... I can't think it's ok to eat that much MEAT everydamn day. :D
