Does Kaepernick boycott today?

Just seeing this a little late. It doesnt matter, its his right to do so, thats what this countryis all about etc etc. Im still a niners fan. I think kaep sucks at his job, and unless he gets it togetheri hate him for that, his message is fair though. I know its fun to be a gun wavin' big truck drivin' murican, but the entire reason this country was founded was to get away from the oppression in england, to be in a free land. When we atart getting our panties all in a bunch over someone sitting through a song (a song about freedom and independence) we're just being england. Home of the FREE. FREE!!!

According to whom? You? The government? Or should it be left up to the individual who is exercising his/her rights to decide when, where, and how to do so?

Not wanting to fight with you and i do respect your opinion. All I'm doing is pointing out the things as I see them.

Not fighting. Agree to disagree.

I don't much like kaep to begin with, but all this comes down to is simply that he has a right to do that, and it should not be infringed upon. Everyone else has a right to voice their disagreement, but he cannot be punished in a court of law for doing what he's doing. His employer has a right to fire him if he's violating anything in his contract, of course. I just want people to understand that it's simply his right to do so. That's all.

Now to a hypothetical situation. If I were to exercise my free speech as a white football player and say I really don't like how African Americans have gained more equal rights and it needs to stop and I sat during the national anthem, what do you think would happen?!? Shit would hit the fan.

In case you didn't notice, shit has hit the fan for Kaepernick. He has people blasting him from all sides for exercising his rights much like in your hypothetical. The guy is getting death threats for Christ's sake. I'm failing to see any difference.

And what if that led to other whites raising hands high in resemblance to a nazi salute? It would not be tolerated.

That happened during the holocaust....

And until you tried to infringe upon someone else's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness then not much could be done. Has anyone stopped the KKK from preaching their hate? Or what about other white supremacists from preaching theirs?

The NFL is not the right platform and kapernick is a jackass

So a professional sports league that is arguably the most watched sport in the country, with many millions of viewers nation and world wide, one that is broadcast on at least 5-10 different channels, etc is not a right platform for someone who works in said league to take a stance? You think his message would have reached the same amount of people or been televised or talked about on hundreds and thousands of websites had he done the same thing outside of football? Had he done so at a high school football game? Had he never gotten to the top bc of football? He owes what he has to football and bc of this it's a fine platform to voice his message. Where do you think he would be without the platform of the NFL?

I think he could have simply requested an interview with ESPN. They would've happily given him a platform and the first couple weeks wouldn't have been overshadowed with the national anthem issue. He chose a different path and I think was less affective.

He could have for sure but would that have brought as much light to the issue as what he did do? Answer is most likely not.

As a person who has 1st hand experience with professional sports AND the military, I think the majority/ignorant will never understand what Kapernick is doing. Even after his explanation, you'll still crucify him. In summary he says he's against injustice for all people, but more specifically people of color.

●but you fools will look at the fact he didn't stand for the anthem and lose yallz damn mind●

I can in return blast each and everyone of you guys for:
1.) Talking during the anthem
2.) Having a hat on during the anthem
3.) Having shades on during anthem
4.) Eating or chewing gum
Etc...

He's not referring to white vs blacks, he referring to the system against the people; whether it be economical, social or judical.

Kap already said his actions are no way a disrespect to those who legally uphold the law (city, state, or country).

Then why wear the socks? Of course he's gonna come out with a pretty little statement after the fact, but ya can't hide the socks.

Black lives matter came to a legal and peaceful kkk rally a few months ago in Sacramento shooting the place up and stabbing folks. I think they did a good job of ending that rally and trampling their freedom of speech.

A little to broad a statement. At my house the anthem comes on everything stops until it's over. It obviously means different things to different people. It's simply a respect for the country as a whole to me. The same way I disagree with some of your statement I disagree with the way he's making his. Luckily we live in such a great country that we don't have to agree.

I guess you must have missed the sentence just prior to the ones you wanted to talk about where I said:

"And until you tried to infringe upon someone else's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness then not much could be done."

So punish the people who committed the violence.

I think you're missing my whole point or ignored it. But all im saying is this whole free speech thing is bs. Like I said if a white football player tried to use the NFL as his platform it would be done away with by the NFL. And I wouldn't doubt there wouldnt be some type of punishment.
The NFL should of stopped this in its tracks.

So when the anthem comes on tv, everyone stops with what their doing and show respect?

You get up out your chair and stand at attention? You put out that cigarette etc..?

The wife stops cooking or doing laundry?

Kids pipe down, etc etc...

Don't insult my intelligence. There are guys in the service that don't what they're supposed to do when the anthem comes on. You expect me to believe that you do 100% of the time.

I did my service to the fullest sir!

You can believe what you'd like. At my house I don't require everyone to lock up at attention but if you're at my house you will stop talking and stop what you're doing if you're within earshot of the anthem. So yes the kids stop because that's what I've taught them to do and the wife stops because we share the same opinion.

The fact that you don't do something sure as hell doesn't that I or others don't. Not that it should matter in this discussion but since you put it in I've served also.

Thank you for your service as well. I tried to serve but they wouldn't let me. Lol.

Can you provide examples of the nfl shutting down a white player's voice while using the nfl as his platform or when the nfl punished a white player for doing so?

What about players being fined or suspended for wearing non league approved apparel? We're those socks league approved? Looks like maybe so.
