You guys think he boycotts America today? I think if he does he's a pos. Not only would I think he's a pos I think any 9er fan that remains a 9er fan is a pos.

But to answer my own thread question. I think he does because he's an idiot.

His clear oppression as a multi millionaire in this obvious racist society which has held him back along with countless other blacks will force him to continue. There is only one race/sex in this time of history that is acceptable to be racist against, the white male.

So because Kappernick wasn't raised in a less fortunate family. Nor experienced what many fellow African American children do growing up in a segregated neighborhood he's a pos? He was blessed with a God given talented and worked hard to become a professional athlete. Does that take away from an individuals opinion because he's a millionaire? So the same scrutinizing/attention we as the public use on the rich and famous can't be used by them to bring attention to serious issues? If he was a true pos he wouldn't say anything and would keep quite. Instead he's taking a stand and being a leader. Was Martin Luther King & Malcolm X wrong for voicing their concerns? No! Come on guys hate will only continue if people stay close minded. No one is perfect whatever race you are. It's about mankind not black or white.

Whether or not you agree with him, he is practicing something that was given to us through the constitution. Freedom of speech. If we take that away from, we take it away from our selves. Would we be any different from China Russia and Korea at that point?

It is not mandatory to stand for the national anthem and is your right to choose to do so or not. You exercise you're right to free speech every day you still breathe in air. Does that make you, and the rest of us, a POS also?

Spot on man, to add to your point when does social or financial status affect one's rightsl to the Constitution? So because Kappernick is well off and has been blessed unlike most people. That some how makes his concerns unfounded and not factual? lol Hello! The shit is really happening out there and he's using his fame to shed light. Just like it is when all players help any less fortunate or charities and shed light on those people or organizations. Big double standard to hate on Kap imo.

I'm going to say the same thing I told afriend of mine today.

People are beginning to think patriotism means never criticizing the police or military, regarding symbols of our nation with importance, usually reserved for a deity, and suppressing dissent in any, and all of, the aforementioned categories; That is not patriotism. Fascism... You're thinking of Fascism.

Patriotism is loving your country, and, at the same time, holding it accountable for its problems.

regardless of how foolish the actions or words of individual may be, if you infringe on that person's right to do or say those actions or words, they can infringe upon yours, too. Defend one another, whether you agree with them or not. Protect each other's rights, or one day, they may be stripped from you, your children, their children, etc...

If you are against freedom of speech, well... I would say the tables are turned against you, OP.

@Docd187123

I've realised some people just aren't meant to understand the constitution, or care much about it :/ no wonder our judicial system overrides it in court quite often, and police disregard it to prey on people's ignorance of their rights... gets me irritated.

I absolutely believe he has a right to protest and speak his mind. I believe more people should because if not change can't happen. That said to me standing for the national is a sign of respect for this great nation as a whole. It means a hell of a lot to me. So if someone chooses to not stand then I also have a right to voice a negative opinion about that persons actions.

Funny, some of those mentioning the first amendment don't seem to know or understand it. The government shall not infringe on his right to free speech. I think he's a pos. That is "my" right to free speech. To me it's not about his status, his talent, his skin color. It's about the wrong place at the wrong time. The pigs in police uniforms on his socks. I disagree with his message, but he has a right has a right to his opinion. He also has a right to go to work and trash talk his employers customers and you know what.... his employer has the right to fire his ass and I have the right to not watch and not spend my money on NFL stuff.

Disrespectful too. There are other ways to exercise ones rights.

According to whom? You? The government? Or should it be left up to the individual who is exercising his/her rights to decide when, where, and how to do so?

Not wanting to fight with you and i do respect your opinion. All I'm doing is pointing out the things as I see them.

That is your right to free speech but you see how I respected your right without resorting to calling you a POS? You don have to agree with someone's opinion or how they express their rights but to disagree with them and call them a POS bc of that disagreement is going a bit far IMO n

It makes me mad the NFL let's this go on. They really lost some respect in my eyes.
It's total bs. Honestly it makes me more mad to see these black football players with their fist held high.
Now to a hypothetical situation. If I were to exercise my free speech as a white football player and say I really don't like how African Americans have gained more equal rights and it needs to stop and I sat during the national anthem, what do you think would happen?!? Shit would hit the fan. And what if that led to other whites raising hands high in resemblance to a nazi salute? It would not be tolerated.
The NFL is not the right platform and kapernick is a jackass
