I'm cutting and was thinking of using creatine. anybody have any thoughts on the effects of creatine and fat loss? the stuff im using is made by a co. called advance delivery systems, i think. only has 5gr. of sugar. says it does not cause water retention.

creatine has nothing to do with fat loss. the only way it can help you lose fat is by building muscle because muscle burns calories. also im not sure about them saying it doesn't cause water retention. the whole point of creatine is to load your muscles with excess water which in turn will help speed recovery by pumping in excess nutrients with the water.

But the hi-glycemic carbs you need to drive the creatine into the muscle could throw your diet off if you're on a very low-carb diet.

its true creatine will cause water retention. About the only good effect you will get from it for weight loss is the enrgy it gives you. Other then that I would not take it. Also there are other good energy stuff you could take. I would recomend thermo burst from GNC. It is not top exspensive and is a good fat loss, appetite suprressing pill.

actually i guess i should have mentioned I'm not trying to use it to lose fat, I was wondering if it negates the effects of doing cardio.Another words, I'm not trying to lose alot of fat. just trying to add a little size while on a low fat, moderate carb, high protien diet.
thanx
