That I see as one of the down sides to labor unions. You get paid the same as the guy next to you whether you outperform him or not. Yes some companies will pay a little over rate but not all of the time. And dont even get me started on the teamster unions and "seniority". Bullshit and it hurts the good teamsters

Totally agree. It sucks because our company only has like 3 foreman at our shop. Looking at the 3 of them I should be a general foreman based on production, and competence. Oh well, when it get slow I will be working over other guys for sure

You lead, I follow!

I've been busy bro. Had to pick it up in the field for a lead tech of mine. You have schematics and related docs coming. I think you'll dig it.
LOL until she seen the credit card statement.

No problem brother I know you’ve been busy. We still have plenty of time.

Just noticed your decking is flush and not just sitting on top. Very nice touch. You just have me an idea.

yeh i like the border look, help break up the decking board look. will look awesome once i get the glass balustrade on and tinted

I didnt notice that. Nice tough @kap73

What kind of lumber is that? Real, composite, pre-painted?

the decking is called merbau. its a hardwood. i will give it a clear coat once im finished. i wana keep the same look to it as it nearly matches my floorboards inside. i also have a 50mm thick exposed concrete panel i made (was going to be a table top originally) in the corner where the existing fence is

the panel will weigh a good +160kg so ive beefed the end up, i wanted to concrete both posts in for it but i couldnt get a hole for one due to a pipe so i made up a brace. its rock solid. took the whip out of the post

I’m not good at posting photos but I’ll give it a try.
Pics are of my house from me cutting the logs to peeling and fitting. I bought no lumber I had all of it sawed and planed including tongue and grove for paneling oak for my cabinets and cedar shingles.

That’s is absolutely beautiful! My dream is a true log cabin in Tennessee to retire in. Surrounded by about 100-150 acres. 7-10 year plan. I watch all the damn log cabin shows on tv just stacking ideas for the future. Seeing how they built cabins 100 plus years ago with all hand tools blows my mind! Not to mention most don’t realize how big the trees were they were working with. True craftsmanship right there my friend. Nice work.
